There is alien life but it's vastly different than ours. For one thing, the Martian Spin Room is decidedly liberal, and it's the conservative minority on that site that is ganged up on by the majority of posters.

Unless we learn how to inhabit other planets, humans will cease to exist. The only variable is time.

Not really other planets. We need to figure out fusion, radiation shielding, and artificial gravity. If we can do this. Than we really don't need to inhabit planets. We could just strip mine them and build are own death stars.

Kind of like the last couple paragraphs written by Asimov in his Foundation Series (Foundation and Earth)
"He said, "In all human history, no other intelligence has impinged on us, to our knowledge. This need only continue a few more centuries, perhaps little more than one ten thousandth of the time civilization has already existed, and we will be safe. After all, "and here Trevize felt a sudden twinge of trouble, which he forced himself to disregard, "It is not as though we had the enemy already here and among us."

And he did not look down to meet the brooding eyes of Fallom--hermadphroditic, transductive, different--as they rested, unfathomably, on him.

Well there's considerable debate as to whether there is intelligent life in our own solar system. There certainly isn't any on Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus or Neptune.

If there is intelligent life streaming within the universe or even our galaxy, why isn't it already apparent?

The chance of life forming anywhere in the universe is so remote that it can't be chance.

The demonic realm exists, and that's what many people claim are extraterestials. Early man was influenced by the spiritual realm so they produced pyramids and other things to mimic and glorify them. Demons have a fantastic set of knowledge, more than any mortal. Only the divine side has wisdom.

RE: Are we alone?
If there is intelligent life out there, I don't think we're the ant colony to their magnifying glass on a bright summer day. Not just yet anyway. An alien species advanced enough could have knocked us out cold as a species, set us back for millennia, or even potentially ended us all by now. I feel that anything or anyone we are encountering or have encountered in the last hundred years is merely observing. We haven't committed our full industrial and intellectual force to the existential question of our place in the universe since the cold war, and that was only so the history books on the subject wouldn't be written in cyrillic. Once expansion into the solar system and beyond becomes profitable (realistically the only way it will become vastly successful to the point of prolonging the existence of our species) then I think we might get a more assertive response from would-be galactic visitors.

RE: Are we alone?
I read an article yesterday about the discovery of fossil microbes (life) in 3.5 billion year old rocks from W. Australia. How old's the earth calculated to be, 4 or 4.5 billion years or so? Based on our own little experiment, it would seem that life NOT developing on planets with favorable conditions would be the big news.

As children, my brother and I were deeply interested in science. I recall asking my dad one day if he thought there was life out there in the universe. He was a very religious man, yet answered, "I think it would be the height of conceipt to think there's no other life in the universe".

The question of contact with other "intelligent" beings hinges to a great degree on the concept of both being intelligent enough at the same time to master crossing the great distances between them to communicate. That's to say, on another planet, intelligent life may have existed a million years ago but has now been extinguished for any number of reasons.

I enjoyed the movie "Contact" and recall best the scene where Jody Foster was speaking to the alien who appeared to her in the form of her father. She asked if his people had built the intergalactic highway that she had used to arrive there and he responded something along the lines of, "no, it was built by an unkown race who vanished long before we discovered it".

I would not be surprised at all if such a cycle has been repeated many times over in the last 9 billion years.

I have thought similarly plus have seen speculation that this is likely the case. I'm sure that intelligent life has emerged a number of times in the universe; however, it probably has been emerging and then extinguishing at many different time periods - and probably with little (if any) overlap.

I have questions though.

If we believe the bible is the Word of God, it really doesn't leave room for aliens. But it leaves a ton of room for end times deceptions of aliens.

Advanced beings from the sky visiting earth and sharing knowledge and technology with mankind is not a new thing, its actual very, very old and in the origins of Sumerian, Babylonian and Egyptian religions.

The entire alien conspiracy thing is just a modern repackaging of those ancient stories and religions. Satan has been using that lie to deceive man for 5000+ years.

Whats interesting is our modern culture has been so programmed and brainwashed with the idea, that me coming here and pointing these things out is Debbie downer city, even for many believers in Christ.

Being a science nerd and a science fiction fan growing up, I myself wanted to believe in them badly for much of my life.

Actually the entire creation story in genesis leaves no room for it at all. It would be like arguing the bible didn't say there would be no internet in heaven. Technically that statement is true, but Scripture also clearly shows otherwise and leaves no room for it.

The entire universe is created specifically for the earth and mankind. Gods entire focus is on mankind and earth, and everything else in the universe is just a temporary backdrop for the earth. The earth and Jerusalem will be the eternal capital of all creation for all eternity.

I understand the overwhelming desire to want to believe otherwise growing up in the modern secular society, but its just not biblical even in the most hypothetical context.

Man just has a hard time believing that the entire universe and all creation is just for us alone.

But that is exactly what the bible teaches from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.

Again, the entire thing is a deception of Satan that dates back 5000+, don't fall for it.

Yep, man was not made until the next to last day of creation week.

The first 5 days was all prep work on the earth and the universe.

That well is dryer that the Sahara

There is no contradiction at all. Its just a review of creation with a focus more on man's beginnings than chapter 1.

You are free to add whatever you want to Gods Word, but there is zero evidence at all for it and God specifically warns about adding to it.

The only reason you want to believe in it is because the world has taught you too (as it did me). What does the bible teach about the "wisdom" of the the world and man?

Read the first verse of the bible. BEFORE day 1, God created 2 things, the heavens and the earth. The entire universe is created and destroyed, and remade based on what is happening on the earth.

You think aliens are going to escape judgment day? The bible tells us specifically who is involved in judgment day and where every single person is raised up from. Read about the white Throne judgment in Rev 20:10-20. No room for extra terrestrial beings at all.

We either believe in God's Word, or we don't.

The Bible, in the Creation account, clearly defines time? If so, that to me, seems to eliminate life elsewhere in the universe for those who believe literally.
