Hmmmm... I found this one as well:
"Rapper -- One who has suffered massive brain damage through a combination of gunshot wounds to the head and usage of crack-cocaine. Rarely do they speak english, or speak in a way that normal human beings can understand."
Maybe their are two definitions for the same word...

RE: Elon's Growth
Elon is a great school. I have no problem with good adds like them to our conference, the rising water raises all boats. But to go out of your way to beat your chest about their growth over the last 20+ years when in many metrics it has surpassed our own seems dumb to me. Would anyone on here really be fine with them beating us because they are now a "mighty" conference rival?
We may have served as an "aspirational" school to them 20 years ago but obviously they need to set their sights higher since they seem to be out-pacing us in many areas. Maybe they should now serve as our "aspirational" school in terms of academics and doing more with less?

Other bonus is that it's never been that full as in the pic above that I can recall. Maybe they will come on on November 18 but I doubt it. Elon's Thanksgiving break begins after classes on Friday, November 17. We can dominate their stadium. Very few students will stick around for the game on Saturday.

RE: Elon's Growth
Elon only has about 5000 students, 83% are from out of state, selectivity is over 60%, it is a private school not promoted by the college guidance counselors at our local high school.
Not sure how they were selected as a rivalry/peer game for JMU in prior years.

Well, that settles it. Dukeman's kid's guidance counselors haven't said Elon is a good school. What more evidence do you people need???

That isn’t a doctored photo. I believe it’s from 11/14/09 when #6 8-1 Elon hosted #7 7-2 ASU, a 27-10 ASU victory.
Hopefully it’s that full again on 11/18/17 when #6? 9-1 Elon hosts #1 JMU a ____ JMU victory.

Big difference is a closer, better traveling app State fan base a year removed from three straight titles. I’m sure almost half that crowd are app fans.
It was also the same week equivalent of this weekend’s games. Ours will be right before thanksgiving and that’ll be an attendance killer for both home and visiting fans.

It’s barely over an hour closer to App State than to H-Burg. Plus all those alums in Richmond, Lynchburg and RTP are close. If I still lived in Cary I’d be there.

I wouldn't be surprised if half of App's alumni lived in the Charlotte area. That is probably one of the biggest hurdles UNC Charlotte has with their football program taking root- seems like everyone in the Charlotte area already has a team and generations of UNC Charlotte grads were commuters rooting for other schools.
But JMU does have a lot of grads in this area as well. If the game wasn't at noon I'd be making a day trip with my sons but we've got other commitments. We really need to get with App and ECU.

Elon IS extremely well respected in the state of NC. Only about 15% of the students come from NC (smaller, private, a little pricey, but Elon is an outstanding Uni.

Elon has closer to 7000 undergrads, and in excess of 700 students enrolled in its graduate programs in business, law and health, for a total enrollment nearing 8,000.
Your local High School guidance counselors also appear to be a bit out of date. The academic profiles of entering Freshmen at Elon (based on the standardized test scores) are higher than JMU, and are approaching Richmond territory.

Wife and I went to the JMU game at Elon in 2015. Very pretty campus and the stadium is also nice. As someone above noted no track and a grass field. gets points. Wife and I are looking forward to making the trip there in 2 weeks with the younger daughter (2015) and the older daughter (2010) and her husband who live in Raleigh.
Go Dukes!!

I hardly remember; was over a year ago. Some Jagoff UNCW baseball fan didn't like that I called their fans out for being aholes at a JMU baseball game.
As for this game, I'll be there with my wife ( '87 ) and some neighbors.
