If Moore starts over Trail I'm not going to waste my time watching any longer.

I'll be in the stands, and I can't wait. A mid afternoon visit to Nippert is always warranted, and I love cheering on the Bearcats.
Sure, our defense is gonna get shredded, but their defense is pretty not good too so Moore probably won't have too bad a game. He'll probably only throw 1 dumb interception against that D.

I don’t think there’s much difference between Moore and Trail right now. But Trail is younger and he has a stronger arm so let’s try and develop him during this lost season.

I'm pretty sure Moore is starting. I'll be there anyway. Go Cats!

Moore or Trail...neither will make an appreciable difference. They are pretty much the same guy. One can run better but doesn't throw as well. It's a wash.
We desperately need a better QB option next year.

You may be right but as of now we havent seen enough of Trail to fairly say that. They're not even the same style QB. With our OL I've believed all year long that the QB with better feet would help buy time. His run threat would force opponents LB/S to cheat a few steps up helping WRs get open, and he forces defenses to change their entire gameplans as we have another weapon they have to take into consideration.
His downside was hes not as good a passer, but at this point....

I know I'm being overly optimistic, but what if this is the case:
Hayden Moore is still the starter, but injured. Has Fickell specifically said he'll play Saturday? Maybe Trail is getting the start due to "injury".

I'm wondering what happened to the Moore that threw for a school-record 557 yards and four touchdowns vs. Memphis? He looks awful.
Regressed?

Fickell said in his press conference Monday or Tuesday that Moore is starting this Saturday.

He's always been a streaky QB. He also has had success throwing deep balls at times and a couple years ago had a lot better deep threats. We saw a glimpse of that QB last year against Tulsa - put up big numbers and hit a lot of deep throws. Too bad we haven't seen him since. Although I take that back - his numbers against Navy were pretty impressive actually.

When his primary is getting open he can be pretty accurate and get on a roll. When he has to go through progressions consistently he really struggles. Hes pretty accurate down the field but can struggle with timing routes. He'll give you flashes as a result.

I could throw 500 yards when you spread Chris Moore, Shaq Washington, Johnny Holton, MeKale McKay, Max Morrison and Alex Chisum on the field.

Seeing those names in writing makes you realize, just how far behind we are in terms of talent at WR.

On paper, this doesn't look like a bad group. Lewis was a fairly prized recruit with offers from Miami, WV, Nebraska, Ville, etc. Geddis had offers from Wisconsin and USF. Pinckney had offers from Michigan St., UK, BC, Ville, etc.. Lewis has been solid, Geddis has shown some potential but is still young and Pinckney can't seem to catch a cold. I had high hopes for Gray but he's had the drops and is really a pretty terrible blocker on the outside.Overall, the WR corps is definitely a notch below where we've been for the better part of the last 10+ years, no doubt. Just not a game-breaker type of guy on the roster from the looks of it.

One of the only accurate things last year's coach used to say on the topic is that we are short and not real fast at WR.
Mix in not great hands and what's not to like?
It's a position group that lacks difference makers.

10 years might be generous. Gino had some pretty good receivers to throw to in the early 2000s as well (Ladarius Vann, Jon Olinger, Tye Keith, Earnest Jackson, Antwuan Giddens). I'd say more like 20.
