It's on Applewhite that he chose to start Allen over Postma.
Why wouldn't he? You can criticize him for not switching to Postma sooner, that's about it. At least he saw what could be done with Postma in. Put him in five minutes earlier and maybe they win.
I wouldn't get too excited about Postma yet. Easy to put up stats during garbage time.
Postma has proven he can carry the offense... But I also understand why he was not brought in much sooner... I think the coaching staff is trying to avoid a QB controversy.
Allen will be given all opportunities to remain Houston's QB
Like contracts, promises are also broken... We'll see what happens next couple games.
Allen has had enough chances. He makes horrible reads and is a turnover machine.

Coog fans should worry about losing to Texas Tech.
Tech would beat everyone in this conference not named Memphis.
Speak for youself, lol. :coffee3:
Easy to stumble your way through hot garbage of a schedule, and then criticize those of us that actually play real teams. The preseason ranking is still the most (only) noteworthy thing S. Florida has accomplished this season.
Average margin of victory is 23.5 points. The only "stumble" was the fcs school and the first quarter of the first game with an all new coaching staff. The other games were well under control for the majority of the game.
I was hoping we'd get some strength of schedule help when we played you guys in a couple of weeks but it looks like our schedule will remain hot garbage for the foreseeable future.
Truth. Allen isn't seeing the field well, he's consistently throwing behind receivers, and he is showing an alarming propensity for boneheaded interceptions. Maybe that's rust, or maybe it's just who he is. At the very least he should be on a short leash going forward.

Its the same thing he did under sumlin that got him benched. I think its just who he is. Postma actually has experience here so he needs to be the starter going forward.

Thats how he lost his job in Aggieville. Unless he gets alot better very quickly, we are a 6-7 win team right now.

My biggest worry about UH was the pass defense that held its own today
The offense was trash under allen but postma scored on every drive he was in.. and he can run which seems to be a requirement for this offense to work
Outside of final rankings i doubt this games makes a difference in our realistic goals with usf and memphis still on schedule and already having a P5 win.. I doubt sdsu goes undefeated
Who would you start next week
Postma it's not even a debate...
Arizona and tech the offense was bad.. it's only so far you can get with dinking and dinking..
And something I noticed a while back, postma plays identical to missippi states qb...our OC is from ms state..
I actually feel like we can win the rest of the games with postma
Like I said, unless Allen improves drastically, we are 6-7 win team. With Postma, we might be better...or worse. Is he the guy we saw vs Memphis or the one who started vs UConn? He's probably both.

Allen just isn't a good qb.
I don't know if he could be good in some other scheme, but it seems clear he's not a good fit for the offense Applewhite wants to run.

I think he is closer to the one that beat Memphis. That uconn game we lost our star defensive player. Not to mention both sides of the ball that game were not playing well.
If the defense can at least play good then postma could have a decent season.

there are few teams tech quality on our schedule...with allen, usf and memphis are loses..our defense can honestly do enough to beat the rest
also postma was murdered in uconn becuase of oline play our oLine is drastically better than the ward years
and i wanted allen to workout from his hype but something i have noticed for a long time ago was how postma fit our offense better..our OC is from Mississippi state...Mississippi states qb who is destroying everyone is borderline IDENTICAL to postma in style of play, size, even in appearance
if i told people this was postma and he transferred from Mississippi state and could only judge from film..most would believe

his passes were behind but even if they werent the offense didnt exactly posse any real treat...hmost of the passes were actually caught...
he needs to be in some big 10 offense ...
But its the same thing he did with the aggies which indicates a trend.
he had 17tds, and only 7 ints at a&m in the sec west...he led them to 8wins seasons at as a true freshmen and sophomore
if we are following trends he should have dominated...at a&m he struggled vs the elite of the elite...but against arizona/tech type teams he would put up 4 to 5tds a game by 3rd quarter ...
allen is a good qb just not a good qb for what we run
