All I learned from this is social media complaining is way more effective than polite calls & emails. Good to know for the future.

I'm not pro-shuttle at all and think it's a waste, but it's not downhill both ways. That's just the opposite of my father's old line that he had to walk to school in two feet of snow and it was uphill both ways.
Post game shuttles to Convo would be a good compromise!

It doesn't work on message boards apparently.

Instead of doing a shuttle that has limited use, do they have any of the large golf carts that they can drive straight through the tunnel? It is likely a much quicker trip and you can get student volunteers to drive.
I see this often at medium size concert venues and t is quick and efficient.

Now there's a meaningful solution. There is steady pedestrian traffic throughout the tunnel though, but it can yield and make its presence known.

That would definitely cut down on time between stops and be a more direct route. I don't know the shuttle routes though, I.E. does the shuttle go up to ISAT then come down to Convo (or vice versa) and do the loop through campus or is it Convo only?

I believe it does an entire loop by ISAT and when it leaves convo to go to the stadium, it continues on university to port republic and then back onto bluestone near exit 245.
I definitely get why it's a traffic issue, port republic can get really bad. That intersection was not designed for growth and high traffic.
It's one thing to shut the shuttle down with appropriate notice, i.e. before season reparking and the season ticket deadline. It's another thing to do so 11 days before the first home game.

RE: PARKNG FIRST HOME GAME
Hey everyone - I need some guidance regarding G Lot. I bought a parking pass for the ETSU game from stubhub for my parents to use when they visit next weekend and I want to provide them some clear instructions on using the spot. I don't yet know what space # it is. A few questions...
1. When is the latest they could arrive and not disturb everyone tailgating? I want to give them a time that they should arrive by in order to not be a nuisance.
2. When do you expect tailgating will really get going in G-Lot....i.e. maybe like 50-60% of spaces in use. When would you expect the bulk of folks to show up?
2. What should their expectation be for how long it will take to get out of the lot and onto Port Republic? Is this a 20-30 minute endeavor?

1. latest arrival time: 9am. Serious answer; they should be good any time. People may mutter about having to move for a parking car, but for the most part they just get out of the way and go elsewhere... at least that's what happens in P lot.
2. for a night game, probably 3pm is when most are parked and loosening up.
2. depends when they leave. If this were a 20K attendance close game where everyone stays till the end, it takes longer. I think most people will stay until halftime and begin to trickle out. Also I THINK G-Lot is always sent up over Carrier Drive (ISAT) to exit from east campus. Usually they only let the Parking deck (450 cars) exit to port road, then P-lot, G-lot, and the fields (500 cars) are directed towards east campus exits. If they stay for the end, and watch the band, usually traffic control is over and they may exit (quickly) in any direction. All in all 20 minutes is probably a good estimate, give or take.

There isn't a ton of tailgating in G-Lot. Nothing like P or Godwin field, anyway. While there are usually a few decent size spreads most of the time they can be navigated around fairly easily. A couple hours before KO and they should be fine, although it could be a little more crowded earlier since it's an evening game.
As far leaving, Deez is right in that they do not let G-Lot traffic make a right to get to Port Republic. However, you can go left and then out to Cantrell/MLK then 33 to hop on 81. I agree that twenty minutes is a good estimate, even when leaving with most of the crowds.

PARKNG FIRST HOME GAME
G lots definitely a fairly tame tailgating spot. Feel free to stop by and say hello. Ram truck this year towards the middle of Godwin side of the lot.

As one turns into the lot and drives towards the bookstore the numbers go from low to high. #130 is up there for that lot, so it's probably in the last row and near the bookstore.

Pitz, care to help me out and show P-Lot #136? I'm not a season ticket holder anymore and can't get into the reparking site. I'm pretty sure you are a P-lot guy so please stop by for a beer as my appreciation.
