Two of those depend on other conference mates (W&M, UD) also cutting a deal. We only control our home games I believe. That's why really it should be done at a conference level, but Joey couldn't make that deal happen, for whatever reason.
Hope this doesn't turn into something like "CSN was interested but didn't have available airtime slots" because we moved too slow.
JMU should be attractive to media outlets given our competitiveness and fan base, much more so than our conference mates and even some G5 schools. The "last minute" comments show the ball was dropped, now hopefully someone can pick it up and salvage things a bit. At least it appears they are trying.

it's fair to say that THAT answer is so very JMU speak. so frustrating.

Exactly. Why is it so hard to say something like "We're aggressively pursuing options to ensure our dedicated fan-base has the ability to watch JMU football on linear TV. We hope to be able to announce positive news soon." Instead they sound reactionary (yet again) and not enthusiastic.

My fear as well...It s the JMU way. It's almost as if our top administrators were all told as kids: "It's rude to be first".

JMU has madizone, so why can't csn also just pick that up?
I've heard a rumor in the last hour that we are doing the same thing as Richmond. If JMU's working on this, I don't see why a basic tweet or press release couldn't hurt here. We're all just begging for a little communication. Proof that we're trying.
I forget who got a message from Athletics asking to call in to speak directly - if that poster ever followed up, and if they got a message something along the lines that JMU is working independent of the conference to get games on TV or other forms of media.
This certainly would be great news, if true. It does begs the question why do we need the CAA to arrange TV distribution/broadcast schedules when each school is essentially doing their own thing. Seems like there would be better collective leverage vs one off leverage. Appears the broadcast interest is there. Just doesn't make any sense that CAA couldn't get a better deal done.
Because Joey Dipshit would insist that every CAA school got a home broadcast. You know, in this BS interest of "fairness". If it was only CSN MA and CSN+ (I assume what used to be TCN?) and they only wanted to televise the 4 JMU home games and maybe a handful of others, so only a 1/2 doz teams got on TV at all, and only 3-4 got home games, then so be it.

I doubt they would say linear. Don't need to. They can just say "TV" or "televised". I always remember it simply being called "TV" or "televised". And all of a sudden in the last year or so people want to add in linear.
RE: Richmond partners with CSN for 4 home games on TV
OT: I am fairly certain I have read the word "linear" more in the past two weeks than I have my entire life. Frankly, I had never seen "linear" and "TV" used together before all of this conversation started. It was always referred to as traditional TV. Sure has become cool to say. Makes one sound smart. I cannot wait to visit my Mother, I will sound as though I read as much as she does.
Now we can go back to our regular scheduled program.

JMU has always been a "wait until the ink is dry and then maybe a month after that even" kind of communication philosophy. I can see JB not wanting to say ANYTHING until they have contracts in hand from CSN. He doesn't want to lead us on and God Forbid something fall through, he'll really get his head chopped off.
I have also heard rumblings of JMU coming out with a stand alone deal. I'm guessing with our relationship with other TV networks and large alumni network that JMU has more options to explore than Richmond would. Not to mention that we are the defending national champions and preseason #1. Richmond has both a "new" AD and an interim AD who probably has a different process than JB. I imagine JB is more diligent in his decision making versus trying to make a splash quickly.

Better announcements are coming.im confident. I'm comfortable more options will be announced soon. I'm still not happy about the situation, but some work is being done.
