Despite all the hate, maybe the CAA decided to sign the crap deal with CBSSN to get some exposure, but not cripple the good programs who could negotiate on their own. Personally, I love to have more games on CSN than CBSSN since I don't even get that channel. The CAA probably knew JMU, Richmond, UD, W&M, would be able to get TV themselves and maybe that's why things went down the way they did.
Meaning no disrespect, but folk we have another apologist among us.
That's okay, without the likes of Nation, Dirty, and a few others the place would be boring.
Oh come on, you guys make the place fun and you know it.

It is part of the DirecTV Xtra package...same package you need if you want CBSSN, NHL, NBA, Golf Network.

What? A rational post with some actual thought instead of the emotional chicken little posts from the conspiracy theorists?
I have thought the same thing. The CAA is a conference of schools dedicated to high level FCS football and some riding the coattails of those dedicated to high level FCS football. I agree with others that showing URI is going to net two people max watching them play. URI should have gone to the NEC as planned several years ago.
Some of our fans crack on SB and UA but those schools have invested in facilities and seem to be committed to playing at a higher level. UA should have received an at large bid to the NCAA tournament last year. They got screwed imo.

Harrisonburg, Va. – James Madison is currently working to finalize television contracts for multiple home football contests for the 2017 season. The department hopes to finalize those deals in the next few days in order to share comprehensive details with fans.
Multiple conference opponents have announced television packages. That includes Delaware, which has partnered with JMU on distribution of the Sept. 30 game in Newark to Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (plus), Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and SportsNet New York (SNY).
"We're excited for the season to begin and excited to deliver broadcast television opportunities to our fans," JMU Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne said. "We had hoped to announce our outlet partnerships today, but the breadth of partners involved has extended the time necessary to finalize a deal. I look forward to sharing the details in full in the coming days as we finalize contracts."
More details will be provided via JMUSports.com, JMUSports social media outlets and media distribution as soon as it's available. JMU's season opener on Sept. 2 at ECU can be viewed on ESPN3.
Season tickets, mini plans and single-game tickets are on sale now by visiting JMUTickets.com or by calling 540-568-3853. Student tickets are also available for the 2017 season.
Closing in on 48 hours after initial announcement that lead me to believe we would hear something in less than 72 hours.
When will Bourne head to Greenville? Tomorrow afternoon/evening? Would an announcement be made if he isn't even in H'burg? Has the athletic department ever made an official announcement on a weekend? Would they given that the season starts on Saturday and the first potential televised/streamed game would only be less than 7 days away?

And the initial announcement even said they thought they'd be able to announce early that day. This feels like when George R. R. Martin puts out blog posts about his status on finishing Winds of Winter.

So your idea of a conference's role is to cater to the lowest common denominator and let "dedicated" programs fend for themselves? If this was the plan all along why wouldn't the conference have notified their "premiere" programs to give them enough time to pursue their own deals? Or perhaps they did but some leaders sat on their hands until there was push back by their fanbase? Either way, Alger led the hiring of this guy and it's another example of our "national" model being executed with a "regional" strategy.

Maybe you have misguided expectations because you don't work at JMU. That is probably it... #### you.

Nation, I do agree that UA and SBU are taking steps, hence the reason I don't include them when downplaying our conference partners. I don't know why UNH hasn't got any traction to improve things as well as Maine. Nova, as good as they are, should also have something nicer for our boys when we visit and compete. This is the way I look at it, does our team feel respected when visiting as a competitor. If not, then we are in the wrong conference. I wonder if any CAA team has as nice of a locker room for themselves at their own facility as we give them when they are playing as the visitor at BFS?
