Joey's full time job is playing catch with our team and schmoozing CAA ADs and Prez. His buddy Michael (CSMG) likely spent a few days/weeks last year making phone calls to land those amazing deals with Stretch and CSL.

Hey, you're on to something. I see it now... JB and Alger knew this would happen and let it, just so JMU could be better positioned for national exposure! Right Nation??? They are geniuses like you said. I no longer consider myself among the doubters.

On top of this, they represent a slew of other small schools/conferences, and CAA only gets a slice of their time and effort. It was a horrible hiring decision out of the gate.
It will be interesting to see how much better JB can do with a few weeks effort.
It is embarrassing to be listed on the same page as some of those schools. A damn shame and reeks of collusion from Joey D.

Hey man. There's no shame being placed beside the likes of Holy Family University and Trevecca Nazarene.

I just think being on CBS digital is weak, even if JMU had 3 games on there instead of one, not a single casual college football fan will ever turn in, would just be JMU folk. That's why I think getting 3-4 games on CSN blows away this CBS digital crap. Yes, ESPN3 would have been sweet, but only our home games and a couple away games would be on it, unless the CAA paid for the all service Rhode Island, etc. need for production. I would've preferred Twitter above CBS because it would be so much easier to navigate to and grab fans. In the end the deal sucked, but may work out ok, thanks to Bourne and not the CAA.
I tend to agree, but this path was basically set once Joey was hired ... here's why:
- Joey immediately outsourced this to his buddies Michael and Ray at CSMG
- CAA is the "flagship" deal/client for CSMG, the only other conference of note they work with is the MEAC
- CSMG has relationships/contacts with CBS, CBS digital, and Stretch Internet. They don't have a working relationship with ESPN listed.
- CSMG likely benefits from us adopting Stretch
- Michael's resume now lists "long term deals" for the CAA with CBS, CBS digital, Stretch, and Twitter as a key accomplishment. He must have felt confident in twitter at some point.
Basically Joey hired two buddies of his, and they didn't deliver. Now the CAA might be stuck with this mess a while.
These facts add a little twist to what I was told; CAA was very close to a deal with Fox Network for 13-15 games televised that folded at the last minute due to Fox walking away. I wonder if Fox walking was for their own reasons or due to frustration with a group like CSMG.

What Fox Networks exactly? There's those Fox College Sports network, which comcast recently dropped from their line up and it was only standard definition channels too. FS1 doesn't air FCS games that I'm aware of.
Some Fox affiliated games may get picked up by the MASN networks, but not all. The ones they do pick up are usually P5 games.

I have no idea. I was told "network." I would doubt FS1 but Comcast Mid Atlantic and MASN are affiliates, maybe thru them? Honestly my only point was the CSMG doesn't list a relationship with Fox and we didn't end up getting a deal with them despite being very close.

Comcast doesn't even carry that channel in their line up. As far as I can tell from their website, neither does Direct TV. It would be an immediate failure to only have something offered by one of three major TV providers. You'd also probably have to subscribe to the highest end package to get it.
At that point, you might as well just only have stretch streaming.

I've got the mid grade Verizon FIOS package and get FS2. Going back to 2013, when they launched FS1 and FS2, I got them both, but not FS2 in HD. Think HD was added in the last year or so.

I forgot about FIOS. I can't even get that where I live. Either way, it looks like two of four major providers don't carry it. Stay away from national networks that many people can't even access if they wanted to.

Not what I said. I said that this could be an opportunity. They shouldn't have gotten in this situation in the first place and I don't imagine that it was anything they intended but now that we're here maybe it could work out better than it would have otherwise.
I know bro, that's just how Nation will spin it.
