Georgetown pulls out of the PK80 (possibly the best ever pre-season tourney)
When you think life is not going your way, just think of Georgetown.
Apparently Georgetown is "in the midst of an exciting time of rebuilding." How embarrassing....

FYI: Hoyas are an active member of "Mid-Majors R Us."
Replacement: Depaul. (i.e. Suddenly the PK80 becomes a low-rent event).

That's sad. Just ply if you lose it's a building block for your players and great experience. What a bunch of sore losers.

Further proof as to why UCONN doesn't belong with the new Big East and their small-time mentality.

The Big Pee has been masterful in the manipulation of public perception and the wringing of every single last drop of blood from the turnip that is now the Big East name. They literally just had one of their only two brand name members withdraw from a high profile exempt tournament under the guise of "program under construction". This is simply unheard of but smart as Georgetown getting drubbed would have further cemented the elite mid-major status of the Big Pee.
A Creighton BJ fan said to me that as soon as UCONN leaves the AAC for the Big Pee their program can start healing. I thought to myself: You mean like how Georgetown is healing?

Hahahahahaha
So they replaced a school that doesn't want to get embarrassed with a school that only knows being embarrassed.

What would be really scary is if DePoop is currently a better basketball program than Georgetown. That would be a real mindfuck right there...
I'm just glad we are a part of the same conference as the celestial entity known as UCONN. I can literally feel the strength surging through my fingers as I type this.

You should be grateful to join a conference with a recent National Champion. Now bow down to your King.

And good luck to Georgetown on being invited to anymore "elite" tournaments.
Outside of Villanova, the Big East is an embarrassment.

I got a kick out of that article.
Georgetown: We're "in the midst of an exciting time of rebuilding" ... and we don't want to get creamed by Michigan St. and UConn/Oregon. And you can't spin "exciting time of rebuilding" as anything other than, our basketball program is in shambles right now and can't compete on a national stage.
Then, at the bottom of the page "DePaul's basketball history . . . illustrates the magnitude of this tournament." ROFL, DePaul has had comparable success to Drake for as long as I have been alive.
Is there a contagious hatred for the Big Priest here that permeates throughout the AAC?

I don't get your use of the word embarrassment. Embarrassment to who exactly? Are you embarrassed by them? Or is that your way of trying to say the conference isn't very good? Because if you're using any conference outside of the ACC as a baseline, it's untrue. In four years of the new Big East, they've received 4, 6, 5, and 7 bids. That's an average of 55% of their teams getting into the dance over the history of the current configuration. I would take that percentage all day for the American.

They underperform in the tournament every year outside of Nova. And until Nova won it all, they notoriously got bounced early as 1 and 2 seeds. Which further delves into my point that they build up "good wins" against each other, gets overly rewarded with bids to the tournament and then flame out before their seed line says they're supppsed to. In the history of the NBE, seldom has a team overperformed its seed and more times than not, flails out early.
Villanova and to a lesser extent Georgetown and Butler are the only schools that legitimize that league. Everybody else is coatriding trash.
