I wonder what the timeline is going to be. When JJ was hired it was kind of a long process and then he was hired in April of that year I believe.

It has to be quick if Wood has any hope of holding on to the good recruits. This was a "poorly kept secret" so I hope there's been hours put in behind the scenes and this search is well underway already.

Not that I have any idea what I'm talking about, but I hope they take their time to find the replacement and not do anything rushed. Losing another recruit is a short term loss compared to the thought of getting someone quick that might not necessarily be the best decision. The team is already bare enough, the next person to set their foot through the door will have a rebuilding job anyway. Might as well give the keys to someone who can drive.

I don't know if the right HC could get some of the transferring players to stay, guess could happen if they hadn't signed. Most left before KB was looking to go else where.
I'm going to stay out of this is who we should hire...I was a in favor of the KB hire.
Wish her the best at UNCW.

I do not follow the women's program very closely. I thought KB was a GREAT hire at the time. Clearly it was not. I wish her well and I hope WS can not butcher the search process. Least one of our teams gets a chance at a fresh start.

Hindsight is always easy and of dubious importance. I didn't like the KB hire.
I always thought that JMU's Kenny Brooks should have been at the top of our list.
I guess VT saw that as well.

No inside info for sure, but Nikki McCray, asst at South Carolina, was an assistant at WKU when WS was AD. Played at Tenn, played in WNBA was an all-star. Maybe she's ready and wanting.

Maybe he didn't think the job was as good as what he had in H'burg.

How many coaches follow a legend and succeed? Not many. I would imagine the success rate is very low due to the elevated expectations.

Especially when said legend leaves the program in total disarray.

Well, the next coach will be lucky that they will mostly be compared to KB instead of Wendy.

In fairness, six years ago both ODU and JMU were in the CAA, and in-conference moves are unusual, especially since by then, JMU had surpassed ODU on the court.

I have been told by folks that are usually correct there will be committee and a national search. So, I doubt the hunt for a new coach will go quickly. Allow me to add the caveat that no top secret insider info is involved in the above info so it could be incorrect.

Now we need someone to rebuild this program from the floor up.
Unless you throw all the money at Nancy Lieberman, ODU women's basketball team is an after thought these days.

Just a little bit of information, Elon's program has continued to improve year after year since Karen's departure. So.................
