Most of the MVC isn't very good and the travel is pretty easy.

Hopefully, the AAC will give them two games vs. us, UConn, SMU, and Cinci.

The travel could be something for them to have to get used to.

Those jet planes go purty fast these days I hear.

Yeah, but it's still a bit of a pain. 1000+ mile trips to Stoors, Greenville, Philly, and Florida.

They would be in the West with us. I would be surprised if we don't have divisions.

I thought about that, but NO current basketball conference has divisions.

The only real positive about division would be a move down to a 16 game conference schedule (5 h/h vs. division, 3 h, 3 a vs. other division).

MAC and OVC still do. The reason conferences got rid of them is because it made the conference tournies a bit lopsided if one division was stronger than the other.

Whoops. My bad. Thanks for the correction.

I think there would be decent historical balance with SMU/WSU/UM on one side with Cinci/Temple/UConn on the other. The 16 game schedule would allow Memphis two more home games in the OOC, or allow more neutral games vs. good teams.

Playing better teams is better. Always. Beating a better team = more move up in rankings. Losing to a better team = less move down in rankings. Better. Always better. Bring it on. The worst case scenario when you bring in WS: GM leaves and WS becomes another Tulane. Big deal. Bring 'em in!
