RE: Can someone explain how WMU
Did someone forget Cincinnati lost to Florida 48-17 in the 2010 Sugar Bowl?
Eat your words, dude.

They didn't did they?
With the exception of Hawaii, every time an AACor MWC team has gone to a NY6 or BCSgame, they won. The MAC embarrass themselves with NIU and now WMU. This is exactly why the committee did not want to give the MAC the access bowl.
Also the attendance was pathetic for WMU. Boise state filled out the fiesta bowl and we filled out The Peach Bowl.

RE: Can someone explain how WMU
Just come back after your proven wrong people...seriously. Cowards! I sucked at bowl pickem this year, and my next podcast will be me talking about how bad I was at picking. There's nothing wrong with being wrong. What's worse? Being wrong, using logical fallacies to prove a point, then going MIA when being presented with facts.
WMU vs. Wisconsin had bad Cotton Bowl attendance... really!? A team from Madison, Wisconsin and Kalamazoo, Michigan didn't travel well to Dallas!? Really!? A team that lost in the their P5 title game gets scheduled against a G5 and doesn't want to see them play one more time!? Really!? WMU's home stadium only holds 30k, and they didn't bring 30k to Dallas!? Really!? The Alabama and Clemson semi-final game last season outdrew Wisconsin and WMU!? THIS IS SO SHOCKING! Hey ECU.... why don't you go out to Phoenix and play Florida and do better than this years semifinal with Clemson and Ohio State

Guy didn't know what the hell he was talking about. I was at the Cotton Bowl. Attendance of 60k was solid, especially for two teams far out of the geographical footprint for the locals.

That was the Big East...
If that's the case, we have 2 national championships thanks to Miami...
Listen this whole conference feud is dumb. Wmu had a great year, but at the end of the day, they just won the Mac. While this is more than my team has (0 conf. Titles) you guys blew a big opportunity and your coach left. Now it seems he is flipping all of your commitments. It sucks. Hopefully you guys can make a great signing and reload. I wish yall the best of luck.

FWIW, the Houston fan said "With the exception of Hawaii, every time an AAC or MWC team has gone to a NY6 or BCS game, they won." Given how he said AAC instead of Big East, that implies that he was only referring to current AAC or MWC schools and their major bowls games since the BCS era, when many of them were in the Big East or WAC. Under those conditions, The U doesn't count. It's like saying the MAC is a strong conference now because Marshall had a great run in the nineties when they were in our conference.

I was at the Cotton Bowl, the Dallas paper next day gave crowd attendance a 59,699. Paper also that Western crowd was bigger than Wisconsin. It didn't look like it on TV because the camera that pictures the crowd was hanging over the WMU cheerleaders and pictured the Wisconsin (home side).
Western traveled with 30,000 for the Cotton Bowl.
Western competed very well with attendance and playing game.

RE: Can someone explain how WMU
Quote:I can explain, WMU got steam rolled by the 4th best BIG team. The score was close but the game was never in doubt. Chalk one up in the moral victory scorecard I guess. Not sure anyone else in the G5 could have done better though.
If you're within 1 possession for much of the game, it'll always have some level of doubt. Especially when you have a offensive capable of making big plays. But they kept that doubt in check as much as possible, given 1 possession.
4th best in B1G? Arguably. After OSU's performance of getting Actually steam rolled and shut out -- I'd say they're more like 3rd-best, but not that it matters as much as the MAC -- they're all crammed together as able to beat each other on any given Saturday, with just some having a hair of an advantage.
