That leaves us with dear old Jamey Chadwell. He's mastered the art of the job hop, the climber who continually embellishes about his playing time in college to people, and wasn't considered for the ETSU job, his ALMA MATER. Folks ought to look really close into what's going on at Charleston Southern with their APR, new compliance officer, etc... He'll win, but at what cost? I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him get this job, or to move on from Charleston Southern no matter what.
Interesting ...

Shawn Elliott is the most intriguing name I've heard so far. He was part of the staff during App States's three-peat national title run, he's worked with Ga Sate's AD, he would bring some excitement with his energy and background, and should be well established in recruiting GA, SC, and NC. The SC open records site says he makes $350,000, I don't know if he's getting anything "off of the books", but if Ga State was paying Miles $500,000 then I could see them upping that to around $700k to get someone they think can get them winning consistently.

That seems to be the name that pops up the most.

If we are going under the theory that he already has a favorite than that is it. I am really not that reassured. We need basically a football version of Ron Hunter. A tireless promoter who gets this city and campus immediately and who can connect with area HS coaches and parents. That was one of the main things that Miles could never overcome. Ron at least gives the impression of loving where he is at. Curry was and is the same way refers get to GSU and Atlanta. Our baseball coach Greg Frady is the same way. Miles always gave her impression if you've met him that he would rather be back in Indiana. Can't sell a program that way.

I don't know why people believe Huesman would not take the job, GSU can easily triple his salary, great city to live in, not a lot left for him to do at Chatt, except win the NC, he is moving up to FBS, and even though he would have a tough time getting the fans to support the program, its not like he had great support at Chatt from the administration or the fan base. Not saying its a slam dunk he would leave for GSU, some coaches are very happy coaching at the FCS level (see Moore at App State), but you got to think if GSU wants to talk to him he will atleast listen

Congrats to GSU for finally putting their foot down. Some of the more Paul Fienbaum type GS posters seem to think that GSU will never be anything even after they beat us. They are going to be surprised quickly if Cobb does his job right.
I am not worried to much about GSU getting option coaches they would literally be wasting a ton of offensive players on the team and starting from scratch.
Also I always laugh when folks say a coach would never leave. Honestly the UTC coach would leave in a second for a solid FBS job. It will be his opinion whether GSU is one right now. If you can win at UTC it is a pretty good sign you can coach. They were a gimmee game for the most part for Furman, App and GS back in the day before he got there.

I've thought about this for a long time. All Ga State needs is a good coach. They've already got money. They've already got marketables. They're in a recruiting hot bed. All they need is some consistent wins and we'll be yesterday's news. They'll take our recruits, our media attention, all of it. They'll shoot out of this conference and end up in the AAC faster than any Eagles fan can say "money drop"

Slow down . We will get a new coach soon if this does not turn around. There is enough legit DIV I talent to fill up probably six or seven competitive FBS teams just from GA. We get just as many from FLA. If you need a reminder just look at the jerseys hanging on the stadium. The only thing that is marketable in football is winning. Nothing about Tuscaloosa is marketable but a winning football team. Also if we win and they win we both get more media attention. Also what is the media attention you are talking about? You think the Sav channels are going to run with GaSt stuff...or ATL stations are going to lead with that big GS win over Sav St.....lol.
All that really matters with a competent coach that can recruit. Miles never dove in head first on the local talent. To many JUCO's and transfers. Imagine if he would have just gone all HS kids today. He would be coaching kids that probably would all jump on a grenade for him and they would have been in his systems for four years.

Sorry to hear that. He turned around the Indiana State program and won there, which is a real tough job. Best of the luck to Georgia State on a new man. Need somebody to fill Turner Field.

ya, not sure GSU is the "sleeping giant" some people believe, even if they become a G5 success, they will always struggle to put butts in the seats, and to have a large fan base, just too many other things to do on Sat afternoon than watch GSU vs App, plus their pretty much a commuter school, enough kids aren't going to still around on the weekend just to watch the football team. As far as the next coach, John Grass would make a lot of sense

He never dove because he put off local coaches and lets face it he never wanted to be here. You cant sell a program and city you do not want to be in yourelf. So personally I hope this is the last ill fitting hire. No more coaches who are uncomfortable with any or all of GSU, Downtown Atlanta, Metro Atlanta, Georgia and the South.
