It really makes everything else seem meaningless when you see a tragic event first hand like we did this morning. It was my oldest daughters' first high school swim meet and tragically, a boy from a competing swim team had a seizure, fainted and later was pronounced dead. Don't know any other details than that, other than his older brother is a freshmen swimmer at SMU and this boy was a senior at Fort Bend Clements.

Very sad day around here. RIP. I doubt I'll post here for a bit.

OMG. That is horrible. Prayers for the young man, his family and his team/school.

A girl died in my PE class in 5th grade (asthma attack) and for years afterwards I was afraid to fully exert myself physically. I remember it vividly 30 years later.

I recently witnessed a mans battle for life recently. I was at a gas station & was about to climb into my truck & drive away when a noticed a man laying on the ground & who I assume was his wife performing CPR. Started towards them to call 911 but then I noticed a teen boy on the phone, his son I assume. I didn't want to roam to far from my truck since I had my 3 year old in his car seat. What do you do? It seemed to take forever for the firemen to get there.

That's awful. Keep close to your daughter, as this event will be very traumatic for everyone that was there.

I was coaching a flag football game for 3rd graders and it was getting way too competitive for a 3rd grade football game. We were in the championship game and the opposing coach drops to a knee and has a heart attack and dies.TOOK FOREVER FOR THE AMBULANCE TO GET THERE. Will never forget it.

Man. Life is too short. We all should just lighten up a bit.
