the thing is, look at the schedule post Detroit....
Bengals
Vikings
Packers
Cowboys
Cardinals
Eagles
Panthers
Bears
Giants
Those are 9 brutal games. Even if they are 4-3 after 7(either winning on Sun and then going 3-1 or losing on Sunday and then going 4-0)- being 4-3 isn't going to help with that gauntlet left.

I would say 5 brutal games, but I get your point. Have to assume losses to the Bengals, Packers, Cowboys, Cardinals and Panthers. That leaves 4 with the Vikings, Eagles, Bears and Giants. All 4 are winnable, but if those are the 4 easiest games after the Lions game, then you can't feel too good.
Went to 49rs @ Panthers game Sunday. The Panthers looked as good as they should but as bad in spots as they shouldn't. The thing that ticked me off the most though was a guy came walking up in the stands wearing a Peyton Manning Broncos jersey and super bowl hat while looking left and right smiling. WDF. When one of the ushers came up checking on folks I asked if could toss the guy out LOL. Maybe I am old fashioned but why would you come to a 49rs @ Panthers game wearing Browns jerseys, Cowboys jerseys, Miami Dolphins jerseys, Saints jerseys , and this Bronco crap?
I do want to give some shoutouts to the the 49rs fans rocking the Craig, Montana, Young, Rice, Lott and other 49r greats for jerseys--even the old retros where the 49rs had the red jersey and the numerals with the gold and black trim. But, not sure if I liked the greats done in that new 3rd/alt black jersey look of theirs since none of those players had that look when they played.
Props to the Panther fans still having Wells, Greene, Smith, Walls, Proehl, Minter, and other Panther greats. It was kind of cool to have Kevin Greene show up and in his HoF jacket. He beat the keep pounding drum and has been one of the few that when he hit it, you felt it. The clips they had of his from is Panther days that they put up on the Stadium screens were great. The guy was a beast for the Panthers.
Crazy thing is they knew people would load up for Peterson, but we're probably still thinking he'd be like the old Adrian and fight through it anyway. Now he may as well be done for the year as far as I'm concerned. Should've traded him while value was still high.

Try to get our first round pick back for him!
Maybe. But if the team rode out the low valley child abuse drama I can't see how they would make the trade at this point. As you said, they still have Asiata and Bradford connecting with Diggs should eliminate the 8 man fronts. I think Minny extracted as much value as the could from Peterson, if the meniscus downs him for the season, it won't imperil their playoff hopes.
No, you're right. They probably won't ever trade him at this point. For the new stadium opening, he was still front and center on all the video and picture promos. People still worshipping him and making him the face of the Vikings.
Peterson doesn't matter. He wasn't a factor in ether game this year. His best days are behind him. Trade him or renegotiate his contract.
Khalil also wasn't very good. Not sure his replacement will play better though. Need to draft a tackle!
Bridgewater is the only injury that sucks. But maybe Bradford has found his calling as a Viking. Throw it 50 times a game to Diggs, Rudolph, swing passes/screens to McKinnon, and we'll be fine.

I do like that the QB position have several good looking prospects who will be able to set right once the old guard of Brady, Breeze, Rivers and the like
Bradford is only 28. Has been cursed with injuries true.
But there is also a chance Teddy is never the same again ---- which is unbelievable to me that this all happened untouched on a freak accident. I still think there was a hole in the ground ...
Anyway, point being maybe Bradford ends up being Vikings QB for a while. Diggs, Rudolph ... maybe Treadwell gets playing time. Our OL is patchwork, but still help up. Boone got injured now, but this guy I never heard of Sirles stepped up.
Going to Rams v Bills at the Coliseum this Sunday. Not sure what to expect after last week's result in Foxborough. Actually, I do kind of know what to expect: Rams won't break anything open for Gurley, their coog qb will look mediocre, then terrible. I'll be bored by the game before the 4th quarter, but terrified by the crowd by middle of the 1st. It'll be hot as hell, I'll get sunburned and the Coliseum will run out of water again. I'll be happy to escape with my life.
