RE: Baseball Recruiting
Garibay has had one heck of a Summer-- he's hitting over .400, with at least 5 or 6 HRs. Can't wait to see his left-handed power bat at Reckling. I would assume he's a leading candidate for the LF spot next Spring, with Walsh in CF (if not at SS) and Gneiting in RF.

@FiveTool Guy Garibay (@guygaribayjr) torched Championship Sunday at the #FiveToolWS going 6-8 with 2 HR, 2 2B and 6 RBI. What a Guy!

Garibay will be a starter, and Becker probably will be too. They are too talented to keep off the field.

Becker could play 1B, but then where would Bulman play? He's too talented a defender to simply be DH. Perhaps Becker as a righty-lefty DH with Combs?

I'm assuming this is the commit-- next year's recruiting class (2021), from North Carolina...

Impressive HS stats playing. Rice wasn't shown on the college choice lists I could find. Did the Owls steal one?

If this guys is truly a talent, I'd say it would have been a steal given he could have stayed close to home and gone to either UNC or Duke, both with strong baseball programs...and Wake Forest has improved their baseball program dramatically over the past several years. I wonder if Mike Fox retiring had anything to do with it.

One college choice list I saw showed:
1. UNC
2. FSU
3. Ole Miss
4. Clemson
5. Alabama
6. UCF
7. USC
8. Boston College
I don’t know how accurate this ever was, but, assuming, sone validity, the Owls won out over some significant competition.

Arlington, VA? Making some noise on the recruiting trail in the mid-Atlantic!

Who knows. I noticed LaTech is playing a full 56-game schedule. I have heard rumors that CUSA conference series will be 4-games and include on double-header of 7-inning games each. Not ideal, but understandable.
BTW, anyone know why Roel Garcia has yet to pitch in intrasquads?

The schedule posted on LA Tech's website doesn't bear that out. Subject to change of course.
I was interested to see that we are going to host them at Reckling for our normal conference weekend, and then go up there for a Thu-Fri 2 game OOC series at the very end of the regular season.

LaTech hosts the C-USA baseball tournament this year (probably the weekend following our two-game series in Ruston).
