I guess when your team goes 0-3 all you are left with is making snide remarks about the other teams tarps congrats

Not true. We can also make snide remarks about your banner debacle, attendance, your refusal to use appropriate punctuation and football. But we didn't because we're better than that.

Well you're not better than 0-3 against EMU in men's hoops tarp or no tarp, attendance, and if you want punctuation here you go: 0-3!

You neglected the banner debacle which was hilarious. Not as hilarious as our attempts to play defense, but hilarious. I'd do the "oh and" game with you for football but it's like "forever" I think.

Pete Liske, the former Penn State QB, was hired as AD when Al Bohl left for Fresno State. When Pete Liske was fired, Associate AD (and UT HOF baseball player) Mike Karabin was named Interim AD and appeared to have the inside track for the job as he seemed to be doing a good job as interim and certainly had very strong ties to UT. However, he withdrew his name for the top spot after an unfortunate arrest for DUI while driving home from a UT fundraising golf event, although he remained at UT as Associate AD until his retirement. At that point MOB was hired from the outside.

From there it was easy to see improvement. That is not a good measuring stick to use and giving credit to Kowalchek (never looked at how to spell his name) is worn out. The only coach that could not have improved from that is - Cross.

As I've said before, there was no guarantee that the coach they hired to replace Cross would improve the program. They could have stayed at the bottom or only improved slightly. Instead, they improved significantly. Going from 4-28 to 27-7 in four years is remarkable. They finished tied for first in the MAC and were one victory away from the Big Dance. Undefeated at Savage, started 12-0. That season was a special one for me as a fan. They went from 1-15 to 7-9 to 10-6 to 14-4 in MAC play. That is steady improvement each year.

This isn't quite right. Going 27-7 is impressive, period, but it's no more impressive four years out from 4-28 than it would be four years out from 16-16. It's all new players. The 4-28 guys graduated or moved on. When a new coach comes in to rescue a dismal program like UT's under Cross, there are actually recruiting advantages. The new recruits know that they are going to play right away, which is really important to a lot of kids who have been stars in high school.

By your logic, then going from 27-7 to this year's team in two years is pretty pathetic.

Not to take away from the success K has had, but I get tired at this point of seeing Cross's name used to justify K's shortcomings.
