It's all speculation, of course, but Tinnon wouldn't have tired out. He was a lean 6'8" rebounding machine and I just like the veteran leadership on that team and the bench depth. This team, especially Taylor, is prone to foul trouble and if Taylor and/or Kelly are riding the bench with foul trouble the 11-12 team would take advantage. It would be a very fun game to watch.

Have to be Tinnon's first year eligible. He didn't do so well after that first year. And all you have to do to beat Kane was get in his head and make him make his own mistakes and crap-talk the refs. I know he got better and he was amazing and all that, but we're talking about Herrion coaching and these guys (2016) could have made them fold with their playstyle. I don't know if it would be enough but I think they'd have a good chance at winning. Honestly, I feel Pitts would be their greatest challenge to overcome. He was very good at getting to the basket through about any defense.

And Johnson was just a great overall player, he was consistent in all categories. That was a heck of a team. This is a heck of a team.COGS

He would have never made it past his Soph season under D'Antoni too. He done the same thing that Kareem Canty done, only he got away with it.

They both talked crap about Marshall and Huntington on twitter. Never respected or rooted for Johnson after that.

RE: MTSU at Marshall
I like this team right now but we struggle badly defending the post. Whiteside would have a field day down low as would Baines, Tinnon, and Spikes. Kane, Shaq, and Pitts would have been tough to guard as well. Not to mention Shaq was a very good defender.

I still laugh at though that bad mouth Kane. He is in the top 5 in just sbout every statistical category at Marshall, took this team on his back in the CUSA tourney, and absolutely tore it up out at ISU where he win Big XII Tournament MVP and was in thr running for the National POY.

Like I said I like this years squad but we had better teams in Kanes freshman and Sophomore seasons. We knocked off Cincy in Cincy, took Cuse down to the wire (I believe we out rebounded them), and beat Memphis. Which by the way was one of if not the only time doing that. We also beat WVU doen pretty bad too. We also made it to the conference Tournament Finals.

We have a good team but let them see where they go before we start saying they are better than this team or that team from years past.

All I can say is: I'm glad I went to the ladies game instead of paying attention to this beatdown. Good game, Marshall... Can't wait for our rematch - hopefully we'll come ready to play, next time.

I am very happy with the growth of the Marshall women's team. They held their own in Murfreesboro against a very, very tough team.

Congrats on that win. Hopefully our girls can string some good games together and improve through the season.

We shot ourselves in the foot a lot during that game. I can't tell you how many times our guards threw horrible passes out of bounds or right into the hands of Marshall defenders. We were fortunate it wasn't a lot closer than it was with all those silly miscues. And I sound like a broken record to MT fans but we really struggled to get the ball to the post, it's like we're too scared to throw the post players the ball when they are open. Y'all played tough and have a good team, not surprised your record is as good as it is - Marshall has good defense and offense really shocked me in the 1st quarter -- couldn't miss! Scott is a star for you all.

Given the fact that all of the posts in that chain of replies were about women's basketball, yes, that is a good assumption.
