I really believe that if JMU and NDSU are fortunate enough to play in the National Championship game again this year that CGD should do a FCS CGD showcasing both of these excellent programs. Both schools have earned it.

That's a great idea.

If the FBS title game was in Arlington this year then it would be doable.
FCS in Frisco on Saturday, FBS in Arlington on Monday.

Unless they have 2 different sets in trucks I don’t think it is possible getting everything to San Francisco and set up in 2 days

Pretty sure it’s just one caravan, but they might be able to do something smaller scale then a full CGD setup.

Yep which feeds right into “the FCS is small time” public opinion.

I think the idea is great and would guarantee fans would Be tailgating for breakfast in Frisco. If the stars align JMU and NDSU would have 3 weeks to lobby between the semis and the finals.

it aint happening... they don't do CGD in January. Why would they do that for a game that doesn't get the viewership to even be given a seat on the main ESPN channel. No way.

Wouldn’t expect them to do an exclusive FCS show, but I could see a CGD “championship week” show where they kick things off in Frisco and talk about the path to the finals for both FCS and FBS teams.

Since it’s typically on ESPN U and would be hyping a game they will be broadcasting, I can see that as a real possibility.

RE: College Gameday at JMU?
I think the WVU outcome killed the minor chance JMU had of hosting this year.

With 2 recent game days, I find it hard to believe we had much chance this year even with a win at WVU. Of course I was surprised by each other game days.

Would be interesting to know how many schools have hosted two games days as or more recently as us. Hard to believe it would be more than a handful.

two teams being 6-0 would definitely have helped our case for next weekend. Haven't looked around at the FBS matchups so I don't know what we would be competing against.

Florida/LSU and Texas/Oklahoma are that weekend. Gonna need some losses.

If #10 Florida beats #7 Auburn this weak and #5 LSU beats UtahSt, no way they don't get it. Two (in that case probably) top 8ish programs probably.

If one of them loses, undefeated #6 OK vs. 1-loss #11 TX will get the nod. The chances of TX laying an egg at WVU or OK losing at KS are very small...then again...crazy things had to line up the first couple times it happened for us.

I just don't see both of those things happening. Two potential top 10 matchups. Granted Florida will probably lose to Auburn, but that would still be an attractive game and OK/TX is always big.

Wait, where are the ODU trolls and their opinions on this? How come Gameday hasn't visited their campus? I am sure they're on the ESPN short list.
Would appreciate (NOT) their unsolicited responses.

RE: College Gameday at JMU?
CGD needs a good storyline "hook" to sell it for FCS usually.

Beating WVU would have put us in a good position. Now, probably the best chance is if it involves an undefeated Nova squad, maybe they could talk about Villanova and JMU (two prior FCS champions) facing off.
Otherwise I don't see it this year.

Isn't NDSU due for another GD?

NDSU @ SDSU on 10/26.

I wouldn't say they are "due" but they probably have as good a shot or better than we do this year. I could also see it going somewhere else this year, assuming they decide to showcase anyone in FCS.

Would be nice if we could host gameday again vs Villanova. Would be able to reuse my sign from the last Gameday!!

Well, that would be SDSU hosting gameday. Would ESPN consider it? Didn’t in 2017 they consider YSU for NDSU @ YSU the same week as VU @ JMU?1+ week prior YSU was 3-1, with an OT loss @ Pitt and a 12 pt win over SDSU. It would have been #2? NDSU @ #3? YSU. Then YSU choked @ S Dakota and Gameday went to JMU.
