I hope we have a big contingent of fans coming up. WKU's fan base is so small, it's sad they'll need all the help they can get.
Doughty will likely be MVP again this season. I like what I see and he is putting up better numbers as a freshman but it's reach to think he will be a two time MVP based off his body off work up to this point.

That's actually what he says every week. I think he may just have a recording of it and push play. Said the same thing for Alabama and Charlotte.

RE: 100 Miles Of Hate!
So what year did Stockstill enter college? If the kid is 21 and entered at 18 then he should have already burnt a year in the 5 to play 4
Now to keep this on topic...
But I see the apple doesn't fall far fro the tree...just like his dad, JR has already made some of the same bad decisions as his dad...
his dad should have left on the first (most likely only) chance and JR was dumb enough to join him.

His dad just enjoyed winning in bowling green too much to leave. Hopefully JR shares that trait.
Grey shirt didn't start the clock. He was enrolled in school but couldn't participate with the team until spring.

Old Blue, I don't who spiked your blue kool aid but there is no way Stockstill is better than Doughty right now. He could be one day, who knows, he has the advantage of being a 21 freshman. I don't think the reason the Toppers lost last season was the MTSU defense. They had 700+ yards with Doughty passing for 593 yds. The Topper D could not stop MTSU was the reason for the loss plus Middle made the plays when necessary.

RE: 100 Miles Of Hate!
Does the Vandy games tell us anything about this potential matchup?
It would appear the Raiders played Vandy better than Western did...or is that just a situation where Western's offense wasn't ready for the first game of the year?
Western only had 11 first downs against Vandy. MT had 18. MT also had more yards of offense.
MT did not let Vandy into the red zone once all day. And had it not been for a play where the QB was forced out of the pocket and scrambled for a 30 yard TD run the results would have been different.
Vandy was in Western's red zone often (five times) and it was some of the worst QB play I've ever seen watching Vandy's QB throw two interceptions in the end zone.
Also Stockstill had equal to better numbers as Doughty against Vandy's defense. We just threw it a lot more.
So, pretty much across the board we played the one common opponent we've had better than Western did. But does that mean anything other than Western was slow out of the gate?

I know it's a common opponent, but I feel like WKU wasn't clicking on all cylinders since it was the 1st game of the season. If I'm remembering the game right, they hardly had any offensive production in the 1st half, but seemed to get it going in the 2nd.
I feel like both MT and WKU have good teams, but WKU has been much more impressive so far this season. I expect WKU to win by 10-14.

Hmm lets see:
Vandy had all off season to prepare for us and Derek Mason was talking about game vs us in July and how he spents months on us vs. the week he spent on you guys...Do you think that could make a slight difference?...Secondly our main WR (Dangerfield) was hurt and pretty much ineffective vs. vandy with a bad hamstring...Third we had 5 drops which 2 of those were sure TDS....Other biggie, YOU GUYS WERE HOME and VANDY JUST RAN THE GAUNLET VS GEORGIA and OLE MISS, 2 big time opponents out of their last 3 games, that has to wear down a team slightly...You don't think that made a difference?....Last you guys realize you lost the game right? Whatever you said about the first downs, yards, blah blah did not matter on the scoreboard, Vandy had more point then you did on the road....Besides I think its silly to look and compare on what each team did vs. Vandy in two way different times and circumstances....If we played Vandy at home, gaurentee we don't lose the game and probably win by 2 TDs even if first game of the season...
YOu can throw all of that out Saturday...Saturday will be your own unique game and I guess we find out Saturday who the better team is...

Thanks ToT.
Continue your jack assery.
I mean holy f'n crap. I asked a legitimate question. God, what f'n douche you are. I haven't had to encounter 12-year old girl crap on this board since the original ToT left. Feel free to do the same.
Oh crap. If forgot. Just remembered I'm not allowed to comment on wkcc/MT. My bad you f'n tool.

Where did you see a response by ToT??? If you're talking about 518, he did provide an answer to your question by simply stating it wasn't apples to apples. We were on the road AT Vandy and WON!! You had them at HOME and LOST!!!
Now who's the f'n tool?? That douche you look at in the mirror!

Yes, because Vandy is the world's model for home field advantage.
Perhaps you should read his post again for tone.
Like I've said before I will let others decide for themselves who the jag off is.

I'm sorry, did you just suggest that playing at Vandy versus playing at home was worth ~12 points? That intimidating crowd of 30k(counting your fans) rattle your guys that much?

He forgot a few words..
if we had played Vandy at home this past Saturday....
Western beats them by 14+
Can't compare the Western offense in that first game to now. Of course Vandy's defense played a role in the difference but so did receivers dropping passes right in their hands. That can happen in any game but I think first game glitters played a role in it more than anything. One was a sure TD and the screen off a double reverse was a beautiful set up play with 3 Western blockers and 1 Vandy defender from a 85 yard td. Either of those plays could have changed the flow....got Western moving. Just as a big play finally did in the 2nd half
But that game is over....
if Western shuts down the run on Saturday...we win. Unless turnovers plays a huge role

I can agree with this(bound to happen on a long enough timeline )to a point.
You could still win if we run well but don't finish drives. We could still win if you completely sell out to stop the run. We are a much better passing team than we have been in years and have the weapons to burn you if you don't stay honest. I believe turnovers and special teams could likely decide it. Going into the game I have to give the edge to the Goattoppers in that category. Hopefully we change that this week.

Funny, too, because I believe I have seen several posts from goat fans lamenting the fact that they play worse at home...
