Timex Ironman practically invented the “fitness watch”.

Well, I sure hope you have a fitness watch at least - because I can’t imagine running without at least one gadget, and preferably two.

Very, very old school. No Garmin or Strava - just a Timex Ironman.

I've had a few of those as well. I'm not fond of being tracked every minute of the day. The Ironman has a ton of functions and is very unobtrusive.

DomeStuff...

This reminds me of the current NASA space suit (I was a suit tech for 10 years). A bladder layer, a restraint layer, and an outer covering. Separation of functions. The major difference is that the dome sees all of the layers welded together somehow.

Don't know what this was, but they didn't want it enough to throw it in the dumpster.

The dome should be inflated today or tomorrow (maybe both - how long does it take?).
Someone is allegedly shooting time-lapse video of the event.

A bubble in a parking lot. Beautiful. Did we not have the 40k available to finish it out nicely with landscaping, or will it remain as is?

If we end up canceling football, we won't have to dig up the plants

Rice actually planned in advance for the 2021 season.

How would landscaping fit in with Beer-Bike?

There is space for landscaping between the bubble and the bike track / pit area. And course there is also space for landscaping outside the track -- just as there is in the asphalt expanse east of the stadium as well. The choice to leave both sides of the stadium as fully paved as possible (even the parts that don't need to be) seems to be intentional and long-standing.

I can't speak for WRC, but for many, being disconnected is at least part of the point.

Then again, if Pheidippides had had his cell phone, he wouldn't have died. 03-wink

I still can’t believe we haven’t built a parking garage in west lot. Probably hard to get a donor to put their name on a garage but it would free up a ton of space and add much needed additional parking.

In theory, a parking garage should pay for itself in the long run -- and a private university would seem seem especially well-suited to play for the long run.

Why is it needed, particularly that far away from campus?
