They have their own enormous parking garage.
Could it be full?

At least part of the problem is the reduced Metro schedules (plus some folks desire to avoid public transportation to avoid the virus) plus extended working hours is forcing some people to drive to work who normally would take Metro. Here's a link to a Click2 story:

More bubble update-turf now down from end line to end line with all the painted numbers. This morning they were working on the owl (presumably) at the 50 yd line. All the sideline sections are also down except for a small patch which looks like they wanted to keep as slab temporarily for equipment entry or some such.

Elsewhere, the fence on the loop road around the opera house has been removed and all the landscape in front seems to be done. They were working on the landscape in the back.

Side note- if you’ve been away from campus for awhile and want to see construction on the opera house/humanities building/new Sid there’s a thread on this forum with pictures. There is a separate thread on the Rice innovation district (former Sears) with nice pictures too.

Looks like they are done with the bubble for now as the turf looked completely done (they seemed to be adding the black pebbles yesterday) as no workers were there this morning and yesterday all of what I guessed was the cover seemed to be have been moved offsite (guess into HRS?). The road in front of gate 4 (Southwest) is totally torn up-I guess being redone.

Was looking for something else, but ran across this picture from the Thresher. Not sure how close the whole thing looks to this mockup image, but thought it might be interesting to post for those who hadn't seen this before.

I've posted this somewhere somewhen before.
About an 80% effort in Photoshop to paste the dome from that link in the Thresher into more familiar scenery.
The size is about right, if not the parallax

RE: HRS / EZF Athletics Construction Thread
This past weekend or week, they restarted on the bubble. As of this morning, all of the doors are installed and something that must be ac or electrical equipment housing. There were also large bundles on the field must be the cover.

I thought it odd that the "main" entrance is on the South side not on the side where Patterson is. Maybe it has something to do with where the power comes in.

Can one of the Parliament’s aspiring photographers who has the skills to post pictures to this forum take some photos and post them for those of us remotely located? Thanks!

There have been photos being posted on Facebook, in one of the major Rice groups.

May not help those not on Facebook, but it is kinda eerie to see standalone doors and such. Not sure cross-posting Facebook links will work for those on on there.

Here's the most illustrative of three photos that Grungy posted on FB on Monday:

As of this morning, the entire roof (cover?) is spread across the field and seems to be attached to the edges and many of the doors, but not the main south side door.

Omg!!
Well, I sure hope you have a fitness watch at least - because I can’t imagine running without at least one gadget, and preferably two.

Very, very old school. No Garmin or Strava - just a Timex Ironman.
