Good question...I will ask.
I can think of only two boards in Rice Stadium, but could be wrong about that. Will a third be in the top corner of an upper deck or something? I think that would be a great addition, if so.

Guessing he meant basketball baseball and football.

Gotcha

Yes that is what I mean't.

Moves the locker room and training facility over to between the stadium and practice field, so the team no longer loses practice time crossing or going around the stadium to get to the practice field.

Also gets our team into a locker room that shouldn't have been condemned 10+ years ago.

Any money for Upper West Side seat upgrades and restroom facilities?

Don't think so. This is stage I of renovations, though...I'd imagine once this is built we'll start hearing about other renos.

I believe Joe K mentioned in the most recent EZF press release that it will be the first in a series of stadium upgrades.

This first stage is all about recruiting. As mentioned, the old locker rooms should have been condemned ages ago. Embarrassing. Coaches want to be able to show off the new facility immediately. Fans will benefit later. Good strategy. It'll all happen with time.

parents had to pass the hat a couple years ago to fix the shower area leaking into the dressing room area, iirc. School wouldn't do it. Bailiff will not take recruits into the dressing room.

Recruiting, yes, but IMO the bigger advantage is in supporting the players that are already here (and the new recruits after they matriculate).

Without a doubt. It's good for everyone. Even the coaches should have better facilities/technology with which to do their jobs. Like you, I'm especially happy for the current football players. They committed to Rice with a knowledge of the decrepit facilities. They deserve it more than anyone.

It sounds like comfortable locker rooms are important to 17 and 18 year-olds, and it sounds like Bailiff and his team understand that. Hence, as our friend Old Owl would say, you can never underestimate the value of good couches.

I like that very much. It brings a touch of the bizarre to the thread which is always appreciated on this board.

My favorite part of that recurring typo is that the "a" is absolutely nowhere near the "u" on the keyboard.

But "ou" is a more common vowel combination than "oa", and frequency of use is probably a bigger factor than keyboard proximity in those kinds of typos.

Agreed. I have a similar set of random repetitive typos I make on pretty much a daily basis.
