Borderline insufferable. The kid said he's going to take a visit and make his decision, now that his season is over. Just luckey making a mountain out of an ant hill.

There were some reports that claimed he committed to EMU although we understand there is a difference then a single D-I offer and commitment to that school.

From Steve Bell Bankhoops Class C player of the year
Malik Ellison 5-8 Sr Flint Beecher: All he does is win. Ellison just led Flint Beecher to its third-straight state championship, David Kooling at the line for 32 points against Covenant Christian in the final and 28 on Detroit Edison in the semis. He averaged 26 points, 5.5 assists and four steals per game, including 61 against newly crowned Class B state champion New Haven.

Got to believe '61' is a typo on Steve's part, but whatever it is, it was against the best in Class B.
Malik's numbers are much better than Stone's two years ago.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Here are Malik's numbers from an online Mlive.com article.
http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/player/malik-ellison/
Malik played against a LOT of very good teams, e.g., New Haven, Detroit East English Village, Ypsilanti, Macomb Dakota (Jermaine Jackson Jr's team), etc.

So did Michigan State. He's almost certainly going there.

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Dropping 61 on New Haven should quell concerns about "level of competition". They have at least two future D1 players, including one of the top sophomores in the nation in Romeo Weems.
Again, it's no guarantee that his game will translate to the MAC level...and I'm sure luckeyone will be the first to say "I told you so" (in pure Wickersham fashion). But he's done enough at Beecher to earn a chance at proving people (luckey) wrong.

Yes a lot of schools have, I was just noting that Ellison has played against other guys that EMU has offered for 2018 and 2019.

Oh gotcha. I was wondering for a while if Elliott would be a realistic target for us. As soon as MSU offered, that dream was over. Kinda like with Hardy and Oklahoma State.
The perils of following MAC recruiting.

Which is why I'm only starting to get interested in MBB recruiting.
Schools (usually big) will wait until their season is over (March), check their scholarships and needs, and then start seriously to move in on so-called Plan B recruits who happen to be Plan A recruits for us.
So a school like EMU spends maybe years following an Elliott and a big school comes in late and can get him.
Lot of these kids could have signed in November but held out hopes of a bigger offer, much to the chagrin of the mid-majors.
OTOH, Northwood pushed hard for Ellison and now apparently will lose him to a D-I program (hopefully, EMU). Parallel situation.

I saw the video and I would not take a charge from him.
At court level he looked like a freight train barreling down at you.
