The Summit Commisioner intentionally misled the voting public about the Sioux name. Granted, the liar who is President of UND did too, and he got the whole cabal of U of Illinois / California alumns who are Presidents to support his cause too (SDSU, Portland St, etc) and to support his intentional web of deception too. So strange that all the Presidents that were militant against scheduling UND all had President that formerly worked in the Illinois system at the same time. The Summit Commish Douple admitted it was just a ruse and he purposefully lied to get UND to drop the nickname, but the ND press than refused to listen to him to protect UNDs President.

The Spirit Lake tribe has spoken repeatedly that the name should have stayed by tribal decree and popular vote. UND is the only school where the NCAA demanded two tribes approve. Standing Rock is mainly in South Dakota, but they were the barrier, even though their chiefs had granted the name to UND in perpetuity in 1967.

So it sounds like the entire plan (to kill the Sioux nickname) was hatched by current UND president Kelley, including asking Douple to do him a favor (to get his plan really moving)?

Then why are you mad at the Summit?

Not a single Slummit President called BS on the lies. There not a single President who dares to state the truth, as the education cabal is so politically correct. Choosing to lie or deceiving the public is apparently honorable among University Presidents now. Those lies stayed with us and eventually killed the Sioux name. I had filed FOI with NDSU and SDSU to see what emails and correspondence their Presidents had with the Slummit on the issue. Somehow NDSU deleted all their emails from the former President who left after corruption charges. NDSU also had deleted the current Presidents emails, deleting them in violation of ND state law but blaming a software error. NDSU only told me that they couldn't find emails because they no longer existed, until they wanted to charge me for a search of hard copies of correspondence. I threatened to take it to the state, so they relented and didn't charge me anything. Nothing was done about it, even though the Attorney General handslapped NDSU for their handling of the situation. SDSU refused to give that information, claiming their was a state law that excluded colleges from complying with all instances of FOI.

More than that, all we heard from bison fans was how lucky we would be when the Slummit finally invited us and how the Slummit is a heavenly place.

The Slummit is an appropriate conference name, because its been the slum lord of conferences. Everybody wants to get out as soon as they get in. Averages almost a new conference member every year of its existence since it first started as the MidCon thirty some years ago.

I have to congratulate you on the FOI filing. Bold move! On a side note, I was saddened that the update bill got killed at the federal level. Anyhow...

It seems that university presidents are not high up on your favorites list. Particularly the NDSU and SDSU presidents. And it goes without question that you don't like (most) NDSU fans.

So I just have to ask you again: where does the Summit League (itself) fit in here? You hate the presidents, fine. You hate the fans, fine. But all Douple himself did was comply on a personal favor asked of him by the president of a university that he may some day want or even need to court.

I'm not seeing how that warrants the nickname you've bestowed.

Don't know if that translates to a multi-bid league. Great MAC teams have been passed over before, for no other reason than being in the MAC.

We will see at the end of the season.

It's not quite the end of the season yet, but last night the MAC moved past the MVC into the 10th spot. 04-cheers

RE: FBS decision
Both http://www.rpiforecast.com/live-conf-rpi.html and http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_midam_Men.html have the MAC 10th.

Keep in mind that the Sagarin ratings and the Massey ratings and whatever else are NOT the RPI. The RPI has a very simple and well known formula, while the other systems take other stats and factors into account based on how the originator of a particular rating system feels things should be taken into consideration.
