This is the same OSU he was originally committed to before de-committing because they fired their coach, then committing to ODU but changing his mind and getting a release to go to Oklahoma, which he has now decided to spurn because he is going back to OSU since they hired his dad.

Eh, I can't blame the kid for wanting to go play for his dad. Frankly, I'm glad he pulled out when he did rather than play here for a year and then transferring.

kid can defend, 104 steels I think. Also can rebound at six a game. Says his best attribute is his vision which could be perfect for us with all the weapons we should have. I can at least see the initial attraction.

Maybe we just need a back-up who can defend while he eats up minutes. On the plus side, it wouldn't be the worst thing to have his uncle come for a game or two at the Ted.

That's what Jordan Baker is. We need a starter who can score (we're losing about 36 ppg from the backcourt this year.

So...I made the call this morning and Gerard Simpkins was the commitment. There have been some hold ups with his eligibility and he is headed to a juco (Bryant & Stratton). There was word straight from his mouth saying that he has committed to ODU. The theory behind it is that he heads to Bryant & Stratton for a year and then comes to ODU after. Not sure what to make out of all of this but the commitment was there and there was the thought that they could get him into the school. Obviously it fell through and that is why we didn't hear anything.

I do believe the idead that he could be coming to ODU after B&S because this kid could go to any JUCO and play at a very high level. We will see what transpires with all of this but that is all the news I have at this point.

I wonder if this is a scenario where he doesn't play and use a year of eligibility. I really have no clue what's going on but directly from his mouth he stated that he had committed to ODU.

Would his eligibility clock start when he went to BS? If so that'd be an...interesting move.

Think about it.....Wouldn't he go to a bigger and better JUCO if that wasn't the case? I might be reaching but I am trying to put this together.
