It could be around 10:00 p.m., but I think it changes according to when the sun sets (i.e., earlier over the winter months). Sportsfan could probably provide information on this.
That blip at 6 AM is a pattern switch. WIND runs a full 5K day and night. Transmitters these days will power up or down without that blip if needed. They probably have a pre-sunrise authority which is issued to some stations to begin their daytime activities at that time even if the sun doesn't rise until a bit later.
FCC rules can be very complicated and I admit that I have not kept up on them since I retired from CBS a few years back. I doubt that these have changed very much though.
The signal gets better at night in Yorkville.
If you look at both maps, day and night, closely you'll notice that they are slight different in scope and shape. That is because at night WIND must "protect" other stations signals because of that bounce back.
With the same amount of power but a slightly altered antenna, some areas would receive a better signal after dark. The pattern changes at local sunset but a few stations can actually have a post-sunset clause which could allow normal daytime operation for up to an hour or two after dark if the primary station they need to protect is way to the west and still operating on daytime pattern and power. Without looking, I would not think that WIND would qualify. It would make very little difference though.
The map also shows that the local area is larger at night.

They must do something at 6:00 a.m. every morning. The signal cuts out for a second - the same type of break in the signal you get when a station increases its power. Could this be a switch in the signal pattern?

Hours and hours of running back and kicking (NIU has had a lot of good kickers, y'all) highlights! A Victor E. Huskie reality show! A Novak cam so we can see what he's doing 24 hours a day! Every day an hour of Bill Baker saying "GOODBYE TOLEDO!" for us to enjoy!

Only $49.99 a month on your cable/satellite provider!

Who's with me???

Add a PigDog cam and I'm with you.

Oooooh, PigDogVision. You could watch the game from a gopro camera affixed to it's snout.

If WIND has no streaming option we are screwed here in Peoria. Not EVERYONE lives north of I-80.

When there was no TV coverage we always went to 670thescore.com to listen. Now what? 03-weeping

I miss the days of Comcast SportsNet airing all the home games on TV. We would DVR them & watch when we got home from DeKalb.

WIND does stream, but not sure if NIU will make them shut down the stream for Huskie games. If so, you may have to bite the bullet and subscribe to NIU Tube (formerly Huskie All Access).

As an alternative, you may be able to find a more sensitive radio that will pick up distant AM stations.

I always loved recording the games and then watching them on Sundays. Made for a nice weekend. Those days with games on real TV will be rare.

This is great. And wonderful publicity that we will be getting on the air. John and Amy were very complimentary to NIU last week. I think this new radio relationship will work out nicely. A radio station SHOULD be promoting a client that buys time on that station. We are a customer of WIND, and they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I will never understand why a station would denigrate a client that buys time on it.

Because sports talk radio is all about being critical. They want ratings. the shows formula for B&B is be aholes.

Not for away games. I don't know about home games because we are AT home games.

We will be at the home games so don't need to listen to those ...my concern is for away games that are not televised. I HAVE to know what's going on. We tried Huskie All-Access...it sucked. Half the time it didn't work...and yes Idaho was atrocious!

Add the tune-in radio app, looks like 560 streams.

That's how I listened to coaches show and pregame on 1360 last year.

The Coaches Show on Monday nights will be on 92.5 FM in DeKalb and no longer on WLBK 1360 AM. Anyone know if our game broadcasts will also no longer be on WLBK? If so, this will definitely be a loss in coverage in northern and western Illinois and the fringe areas of WIND (AM 560). 92.5 FM does not have the coverage of 1360 AM, and several times I have lost the signal shortly after leaving the DeKalb area.
