What did it produce?

What was it ever going to produce? You've got a 5 minute sound byte with a bureaucrat who's busting his gut to stonewall. You're not getting any startling revelations out of that. The most it could produce is for Gowdy to land a couple of punches and the IRS guy to look like a flaming a-hole. I'd say it achieved that.

That's why I think the whole thing is a waste of time. Making this a spectacle and getting nothing but indignant doesn't help the overall cause.

In the end, this all plays into the President claiming he is just being smeared because he's black etc.

Americans do not fear 0bama using the race card. It's been played too many times. And besides almost no one believes anything he says anymore. 76% of American voters think the emails were deliberately destroyed.

76%? It would suck to be a democrat obstructionist heading into November. But then again, it would suck to be a democrat during any month.

Come on, man. You can't force the guy to admit things he doesn't want to admit.

All you can do is ask the right questions and make it look obvious as hell when someone is being this FOS.

He did a beautiful job of that.

Public opinion thinks the IRS is hiding something and I believe the the White House is involved.

I do too. I simply question the Republican approach.

What approach should they take, then? They have the role and responsibility of oversight, should they simply abdicate that responsibility and believe the unbelievable and just say let's move along?

They need these hearing to test the waters, see if there is any there, there. Critical mass if you will. This continues down this path, with constant stonewalling and one obstacle constructed after the previous one has failed and this will begin to drive itself.

The only other "approach" they could have would be a select committee, and I think we're approaching that at a pretty good clip.

This isn't going away, despite the desperate wishes of the true believers.(not putting you in there)
