Allright. Big win to get in the victory column and gain some positive ground coming out of the first weekend.

Old Dominion 7, Liberty 4, Flames commit three errors. The game was on ESPN3, replay is available. What a nice field the flames have.

back to back errors have the Monarchs in a jam...

runners on 2nd and 3rd, nobody out in the bottom of the 6th.

And there goes the lead. Tied at 2

Those 2 errors led to 3 runs in the sixth. VCU now up 3-2 at the top of the 7th. ODU has a shot with the top of the lineup coming up to bat.

ODU ties it up at 3. Two men on, no outs in the top of the seventh.

MYERS, C doubled to right field, 2 RBI; HIGGINS,P.J. scored; URPS, T. scored.

5-3 good guys bottom of the 8th

6-4 bottom of the 9th

Monarchs win!!! Errors made game more intense than it should have been.

Nice win for the Monarchs.

ODU Baseball defeated St. Johns 3-0 at The Bud on Friday. Pitching combined for a five hit shutout. The Monarchs have won four straight and are now at 4-2. ODU will meet the University of Kentucky today at 4:00. UK is coming off of a 16-2 victory over St. Joes in which their winning pitcher A.J. Reed hit a grand slam and a two run homer in the fifth inning. UK had a victory over #1 UVA to open their season.

Maybe it's just me who feels like this season started really early. Maybe it just hasn't been advertised well. I like baseball, but I haven't followed odu baseball religiously. I usually make it out to a few baseball games. I know that every year there's always that one game they make a big deal, giving out free shirts,all the students come out, etc. Maybe that's always later in the season.

Pretty standard for the season to start in February. If they started it any later, the postseason would go until July.

I know they'll be doing the bark at the park again. If you have a dog, that gets along with other dogs, it's a pretty cool event.
