CUSA is a tough conference, but damn, there's a lot of talent in ODU's home area. We need to keep those kids home.

Seems to be the same old odu baseball. Middle to bottom of the pack. I know WS has put a lot of resources behind the baseball program and they seem to be headed (at least based on predictions for another sub par year

RE: Baseball - 2014 Season
I wouldn't put a lot of stock in preseason projections. Below is the Kenpom preseason basketball poll, and that projection for ODU has proved to be less than sterling.

So Miss
La Tech
UTEP
Mid Tenn
Char
UAB
Tulsa
ECU
Marshall
FIU
N Texas
Tulane
FAU
ODU
UTSA
Rice

I am sure when it comes time for the 2015 preseason football polls, ODU will be picked at the bottom of the conference, and they will get that one wrong too.

Face it. The Monarchs are the new guy in the conference, moving up from FCS. They just don't know what else to do with ODU. I expect the baseball Monarchs will finish well above their 10th place pick.

04-cheers

RE: Baseball - 2014 Season
For whatever reason, baseball just can't win the popularity contest at ODU. It doesn't make any sense to me, either, because it really doesn't have much to compete with in the spring. Personally, I really enjoy the Rally Alley--that was a genius idea. You'd think the one sporting event that sells beer would actually be quite popular, but I guess not...

I don't understand it either, the baseball games (and as you noted, the rally alley) are great. Just ordered my voucher book and I'm pretty excited for this season. The game at Harbor Park is a nice addition to the schedule, even moreso since it's against UVA.

Put a dome over the stadium and I'd be there for every game. But when it's cloudy, 44 degrees with a light mist and a strong wind blowing in from centerfield, well, baseball just loses some of its' appeal.

Now I have done that in the past but when the team started to slip down the standing in the mid to late '90's, well, losing and freezing discomfort are a dynamic combo.

Baseball just isn't exciting to a lot of people. Not much action and what little action there is tends to be long intervals in between. I personally just can't bring myself to stay engaged.

Plus audio from WREK Atlanta.

Thanks DM. I checked and it doesn't look like it's on gametracker. I did find a radio broadcast on WREK 91.1 in Atlanta for those who have the Tune In app and wish to listen.

The game is knoted at 3 in the middle of the 4th.

3-3 in the top of the 5th.
After being up 3-0 in the 2nd inning, GT went double-triple-homer to tie it in the bottom of the 2nd.
