The truth is that the climate change extremists are not the least bit worried about what the temperature will be in 2090. They could care less because they won't be around. Now they'll suggest they are worried about the planet or their grandchildren. The concern for the planet sounds good, but how can one really measure their impact. The latter is unlikely since, for a number of reasons, they are not likely to reproduce.
What climate change is about is a deep seated hatred of anything that produces profit and a desire to appropriate those profits for redistribution.
In the short run, the liberals desire to impose some sort of carbon tax, not to decrease carbon usage, which even Congress' failed Cap & Trade legislation never would have accomplished, but increase the flow of taxes and revenues in order to fund their goals of income redistribution. In a secondary, yet possibly more important effect, they seek to move the energy industry and all energy users, further under the control of the government.
Climate change is nothing but a veiled attempt to further the goals of socialism.
can't say I disagree with any of this except the last statement.....you chose the political path.....makes sense....it's a spin board
You mean you think it is an overt attempt?
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Any problems with a rise in temperature are outweighed by the benefits. Quit different with temperature drops. The problems top the benefits.
Man adapts either way. But we fare much worse when it's colder.

absolutely amazing....
Since you're fairly new here in this forum............in a Nutshell what has been going on in a multitude of threads here is that the "Climate Change ne Global Warming" crowd has been saying is that man is changing the climate and we (the United States) needs to take immediate steps to reverse this from happening.
What most everyone else here is/has said is - of course the climate is changing, it has done so for millions of years. Man's impact is debatable at best given the short period of time we have any accurate data on. Moreover, even if man is impacting the climate, to what degree is the impact and additionally, do they really expect us to supply all of our energy needs with solar and wind? Really, just can all the fossil fuels?
That is why we have so many sarcastic comments in this thread and why I also suspect the "Global Warmists" have been rather quiet - given that a good portion of the US has been living in an icebox for much longer than we would like.................................

Not really sure that a thread is the place for it, and certainly doesn't have the room. But if it is amazing that we do not think the way you think we should then somehow we must be wrong. So change everyone's minds. I was wrong once; but then I realized I was mistaken about being wrong.
that's not my job nor my area of expertise.....
you whiffed the point where I stated "don't understand it yet"
so rock on with rhetoric....I'll put my judgmental value in the people that have been trained to figure out what the hell is going in an attempt to provide a solution if that is even possible.
You do realize we have ice core data over many a millennia that has helped us get to this point, don't ya? You do realize that science has got us to a very limited point of understanding and with the aid of computers, we can predict the weather better today than using the farmer's almanac, praying to some god/moon/sun, or resort to dancing FOR rain?
this is just common sense unless ignoring things are the preference...
who the fk knows if this is fixable or caused by man.....that's not the issue....to derive a solution requires evaluation, trial and error, and then maybe a solution can be developed.....
if solving the issue of global warming was mechanical, we would have figured it out decades ago.....
most of what I read about this bs is back pocket related in today's world.....we developed a system that is totally dependent on fossil fuel usage w/o having a fkn clue how that would impact the world we live in....so it's either looking for alternatives that don't cause a total economic collapse with the hope that it would benefit the planet more than what we have today, or just throw our arms up in the air and state that the data that has been evaluated to this point is bs....
take your pick....I really don't care....I prefer trying to look for a solution by people that have spent their lives trying to figure it out....not some putz on a bbs.
I agree with most everything you have stated. Unlike the "Global Warmists" - I don't think we have the answers yet and am not willing to collapse the economy trying one thing, then the next.
Oh and UMGrad - you're a douche of the first order.
Sorry I won't let you be a dumb*** without telling you that you're a dumb***. Clearly the fault is mine.
Typical academic a'hole that has a way outsized opinion of himself. You may be able to buffalo those students that have to sit by quietly while you pontificate - but those on here don't have to. That's why you're such a crybaby every time you're here.
BTW, I have no doubt that the climate is, in fact, changing, but if you think anyone really knows man's effect or how to change the climate - you're just a liberal mouthpiece. D'Bag.
My student love me because I teach them how to not put up with bullshitters like you.
