Manziel is talented enough for #1 overall, but how will he play in the NFL system. He's also a little light and short.

Bortles has the upside of a top 15 pick, but I don't think he's there yet.

I wouldn't spend a first round pick on anyone after that unless my team had serious QB issues. I really think Carr will be similar to his brother, he struggles in the face of pressure, so if he's line is subpar he's in trouble. He definitely has the arm capabilities.

It's the nature of the NFL but at least teams aren't completely overdrafting QBs like they used to
Texans will definitely go QB. Rams will probably take the OT from A&M or a WR if one stands out at the combine. The Jags I think will wait till the second rd or move up later to grab one of the second-tier guys, especially if Clowney is still sitting at #3.

RE: Ward Senior Bowl notes
I tuned into NFL network this afternoon hoping to see and hear some mention of Ward......never heard a word. Most of the coverage revolved around QB's and WR's. Carr and Garappolo getting a bit of love, and some postive feedback on San Jose St QB from the coaches.

Prediction: Johnny Football will flame out in the NFL.....maybe some bias here on my part because I've heard so much talk about him (I'm surrounded by Aggies)
Prediction 2: Ward will be drafted by Chargers or Da Bears.....just a gut feel

There are 2 players at Sr Bowlr that we should have offered, Garraplol and Billy Turner IT from ND State. Turner was from suburban Minneapolis, for whatever Kill didn't offer...

Read a rumor out there that either Jags, Cleve or Oak would sign Sanchez if the Jets cut him....there's a guy that hasn't producted in the pros - 68 TD's, 69 INT's

Garappolo doesn't fit NIU's system. As great as a player as he is, his talents wouldn't have been showcased at NIU, plus NIU got lynch so I'm not complaining.

The other kid is good, but NIU has a talented line. They also don't recruit Minnesota that well. Kill recruited Kansas and Missouri not Minnesota.

Easy to second guess when you just look at the senior bowl.

Jags definitely won't touch him. Raiders or browns wouldn't surprise me. Those teams love ****** quarterbacks.

Jimmie was named top DB at the Senior Bowl this week. His path to the draft continues to rise. Good for him!

Here are a couple of my posts from 09' regarding Billy Turner. Did not need Sr Bowl articles to second guess. We should be hunting for 6'5 + Olineman that can move. That is why we lost the kid to Wisconsin, Maxwell.

RE: 2010 Football Recruiting Thread/Verbal List Post#259
If we get STONED in IL on OLINEMAN, that would be a bad indicator for Kill's regime. Its damn near impossible to get shut out in Chicago/Northern IL with Olineman. Of those prospects posted I like that Billy Turner the best, he is a project like 98% of all OLINEMAN. The others not sure about.........

.. he looks like a player a little raw but ATHLETIC. We need OLINEMAN. maybe we have offered and it is not reported.

Kill was a GREAT recruiter, but he struggled with OL recruits. My guesstimate, there was probably an asst (Limegrover) who just was not a good evaluator and he had too much influence.

NIU lost a kid to Wisconsin because he's 6'5 and can move? That doesn't make sense, NIU lost him to Wisconsin because he's from there and Wisconsin is in the big ten.

Congrats on the. Billy Turner call, but that doesn't mean they offered him. Again, NIU also had the best offense in the MAC and numerous all MAC performers, I'm not too mad they missed out on this kid.

Excellent article in todays (Sundays) Chicago Sun-Times about Jimmie Ward. Full page and a half, great photo and a possible Bears prospect...

Ward 10th best player overall at Senior Bowl and best DB prospect at the Senior Bowl in the article below.

He looked very good in the game in limited action IMO.

please let the Packers draft him. They need just as much help as the Bears at safety.

Hmm .. I'm happy I'm a bigger Huskies fan than Bears fan,. Otherwise it would bother the hell out of me that there are packer fans on this board.

You'd be happy with this mock draft - http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2...ke-bortles

Me, not so happy. Go play for any other team besides the Vikes, Lions and Packers
