I'm not even sure where the nearest ATM is now that it's been torn down.

OK. For the 100th time, they took credit cards at all the concession stands I visited last year and they have been taking Blazer Bucks at the one near the student section for years.

Why the new company doesn't take credit cards, I have no idea, but I will complain to the Arena management about this. 03-banghead

The concession stand behind where the band was near the student section took cards last night. I didn't go to any others to know if they did also, but at least one stand was taking cards.

Debit/credit or BlazerBucks?

Debit/Credit. I had cash, so I didn't use it, but the guy in front me definitely paid using a credit card.

Good to know. Wasn't the case earlier, so maybe somebody got off their tail and did something.

Gonna admit the crowd was bad last night. Last year the complaints were Wed nights are bad because of church. What is the excuse for Thursday nights? I expected at least 4,000 for last night game. I know the home schedule is not that great but still underwhelming attendance for Rutgers and Troy.

I expect it to pick up after the North Carolina game.

The NC game in itself is an automatic big crowd game, but I think it will get interest in the games to peek.

I don't know about many, but for me...work has been brutal in the weeks leading into the Holidays in anticipate of the lost time because of Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. Then again, I went to the game last night, albeit late.

Student turnout has continued to impress me this early in the season against pretty much meh opponents.

Basketball has never drawn well until football is over especially in Alabama. And they keep pushing the season back. Games used to not start until thanksgiving weekend.

Yeah, the students have been turning out in numbers, it's us old geezers who need to pick up our game.

I was impressed with the student turnout last night. I don't remember that many for the Rutgers game.

I think Thursday night games are going to be good for student turnout.

I thought student turnout was really good last. I just want them to be rowdy the entire game! They were a little quiet last night. I also like that they moved the band section over to not split up the student section. I just wish they had move the band closer to the opposing team's bench.

So was our team.

The game had boring written all over it. Turnovers really take the sails out of a crowd and we weren't short on them last night.

I'm most impressed not that so many students came (though it was impressive), but that most of them stayed until the final buzzer...even when it was apparent we were going to win. They waited for that buzzer and then waited for the players to come up.

At least they are directed straight at the opponent's bench. They are plenty loud. I sit in 109 and there is a noticable difference in how loud they are compared to where they have been, when they were actually 1 section closer to me.

I also like the fact they have expanded their song choices a little... not the same 2 songs the entire game. They sound great!

I agree that the student numbers have been impressive, especially since their sections extend well into the upper level.

Totally agree. You just can't expect a great crowd in Alabama while it's still football season. It's hard enough to get folks down here to even acknowledge there are other sports, but to get them to acknowledge it during football season is impossible.

I also echo the comments about the student section. If they're showing up and staying loud for Thursday night games against Troy (which they were), they ought to be a dramatic improvement during conference games over past student sections.

The great support from the student section started about 3 years ago and has been building since. Nice to see it continuing this year. 04-bow

Just a year ago, dudes were stripping near-naked and grinding on each other for attention.

I'd say this year is a huge step-up.
