You're ridiculous.

Do you see how many people are saying the same thing? Maybe they are all just idiotic complainers? There's no way that so many people saying the same thing could be right, is there?

It's beyond small time and about 10 years, at least, behind the times to not accept credit cards or at least have an ATM in the arena.

It's also sad we don't have any kind of commemorative cups or other promotional activities.

In fairness to MB, if you've been going to to games at Bartow for a long time, and they've never taken credit cards, how the hell is it a surprise that they don't take them?

I wish they took them, too, and am at a loss as to why they don't, but meantime a little foresight isn't asking too much.

New fans are expected to know this?

And if they're going to ask for my money, they better damn well make it as convenient for me as they can.

I'm not arguing that point at all. You are dead on correct.

My comment was in response to a criticism in relation to the comment of a long-term fan.

If you've been there 20 times and they don't, should you be surprised when they don't on the 21st time?

Were there souvenir cups for football? I'd be willing to trade some Navy cups for UAB ones.

RE: Bartow concessions, atmosphere, etc...
I don't understand why certain UAB fans don't want the concession stands to be better...or don't think long-time fans should be surprised that it isn't better.
We want high profile games in Bartow Arena (like North Carolina this year) but we are perfectly fine for making excuses like, "You should know to bring cash".

No, I shouldn't know to bring cash...because 99% of other people take debit/credit and it's more secure. There are farmer's market vendors that take my credit card. Sometimes I barely have time to get to Bartow Arena before tip-off, let alone make sure I've stopped and gotten cash to GIVE MY MONEY TO UAB ATHLETICS.

I'm far more likely to spend money if it's easy. Having to get cash specifically for Bartow Arena concessions (when I need it almost nowhere else) not only makes it inconvenient, it gives me a physical example of how much I'm actually spending. I can physically see that I'm spending $20 on concessions for a game I spent $4.20 to come to. People are much more likely to spend money if they don't actually see their wallets empty.

Coach Haase and the team have stepped up their game, now it's time for the administration/marketing to follow suit.

There's a marketing slogan I'm sure UAB wants to be known for.

UAB Athletics: Please don't give us your money!

Can't agree more.

If UAB is going to continue to be small time , then how do we expect to continue to build the excitement that the bballl program is building? If we wanna be big time, we have to look and play the part. God willing, if Haase has a lot of success here, how do we expect to keep him?

If I routinely went to games, I would carry cash, and then I would complain that I have to carry cash.
The regulars are aware, and I'm sure most have adjusted...but it's still pretty ghetto and should be changed

Pardon me that I'm pissed I have to run to Snoozy's to get cash to get a hot dog from the "Legacy Community Federal Credit Union Concession Stand".

How many of the complainers have actually registered a complaint with UAB. Not the concession stand guy, but UAB. Blazertalk doesn't count either.

If that's the case, then there's a whole other problem with UAB Athletics. What organization doesn't track what clients/customers/fans are saying about them on social media/internet?

After all the complaining around here about not running the ball, McGee did nothing but run it for a whole game. Makes me think someone in the athletics department is reading BlazerTalk.

McGee should play Rob Williams at Safety. And he should hire Coach Marsh to coach the defense.

That's about it for my rant.

I'm not familiar with Sodexo and how they run the Bartow Arena concessions. Do they actually hire, train and manage the concession staffs or do they just deliver the ordered food goods to be sold to each concession location and leave it to the (volunteer) staff to prepare it (pouring big sack of pre-popped popcorn into smaller containers) and sell it to the customer? If the former, they need to be told of our complaints. If it's the latter, then complaining to Sodexo won't do a lot of good. They would likely just throw up their hands and say "Not our responsibility or problem".
