Primus always has that funky bass guitar going but I have never really been able to get into their overall music.

With reference to the 2nd video, I did ask her if she love Motohead and Patsy Cline [2:04], which she said she does. So I told her not to worry.....

”Prettiest thing you’ve ever seen.....in the dark

Who amongst us hasn’t experienced this? Or maybe prettiest thing you’ve ever seen in the low light of a dive bar several beers in?

The first one and this one to some extent remind me of when Kid Rock was transitioning to his more country side.

There’s a local group here in BG that I just happened to run across one Friday night at The Spillway Bar and Grill. For those that don’t know, The Spillway uses the old Reno’s recipe for hot wings. The best that BG has ever had. Anyhoo, I digress. These guys have moved out and are actually touring a bit now. They were okay to me but the younger local necks really seemed to like them.

Their name is Twang and Round. Here’s a couple. I think they have some Nappy Roots influence who also started up in BG.

I played those Hick Hop videos.... crazy part is... those guys have a pretty cool sound and a good flow to their sound. Its not that crazy that country and rap have so much in common.... guns, liquor/beer, women, trucks...... heh.

One thing that stands out to me, is Twang and Round are about the same age as my sons. My boys grew up on my classic rock and their own music but also grew up on 2Pac and Nelly and Nappy Roots around here. At least in my house. And since BG is only an hour from Nashville you can’t avoid the Country coming out of there. So they’ve developed a fusion of several genres. It’s what they grew up with. Music crosses all lines.

I've heard rap (and country) thumping for years in the rural towns here in TN. It only makes sensee that the two genres would meld together, eventually.

Smyrna, TN, is the world capital for low-riding trucks. They'd have a Dixie Flag in the back window, but a Malcolm X license plate on the front.

I haven't posted a chillout in a while. Sitting on the back porch late in the drinking a beer or three like I like to do. Head phones on and this pops up after a couple of beers. The buzz and these great sounds = euphoria for a while. I had to play it a second time. Jeff Beck is amazing in his own right but as a band leader he has the ability to put together the rest of his band to produce this exceptional sound and mood. His base player has earned the right to billed with him on this song. The drums and the rest are perfect for this song.

Jeff Beck & Tal Wilkenfeld .- Serene

New Kid Rock Friday.

The Kid rocks out on this one. I really like it. He even gets back into the rap game on a pretty good rocking track.

I was never really into country per se' but I'm a child of the MTV era and my parents like Elvis and 60s/70s R&B and some other more mainstream rock. I would say that's why I like rock, rap, metal, some oldies, older R&B/Funk/Soul, some pop dance... ect...

But right now, as far as my opinion of Country goes... I'd say there is a difference in Country and rock being sung by a guy with a southern accent. IMO, some of this stuff just isn't Country music.
