Okay....I confess. I've always had a "thing" for Agnetha, the blonde chick from ABBA. Listen to her voice on this song, "The Winner Takes it All!" Her voice is one of the cleanest, purest, and strongest I've ever heard.

THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL!

Hard to see how one can not be happy on the dance floor dancing to ABBA's "Dancing Queen"? It is a quintessential song that will be played and enjoyed far into the future. Thanks for posting that!

Love that song. Lennox has done some great sound in her time. I have the Jeff Beck and Joss Stone version in my playlist.

I Put A Spell On You, Jeff Beck feat Joss Stone

Nice version. Joss Stone can sing. Reminds me a bit of Amy Winehouse stylistically. Have to pay homage to the original song written in 1956...

All 3 versions different. All 3 good. And the CCR version was always great too. Thanks for all of these.

I agree. Also have felt that Karen Carpenter had one of the smoothest, cleanest purest female voices ever recorded:

Artist: The Carpenters
Album: Now & Then
Song: "Yesterday Once More"
May 16, 1973 A&M Records

Richard Carpenter doesn't get much respect, but he was a genius as a songwriter.

There are times when I'm in a mellow mood and I'll throw on one of my old Carpenters records or cds. Also, the Carpenters Christmas Album is a standard for the holidays.

this one touched my heart the other day.....what a beautiful song....reminded me how I will one day not be able to talk to my parents and how important they both have loved 'family' over the course of time....

my offering to the female voice trending now....

This lady, Gillian Welch played at the Performing Arts Center here in Bowling Green last week. I really wanted to go but couldn't pull it off because I've been preparing everything towards B'roo this week.

I love her voice.

Melody Gardot: Who Will Comfort Me?

Check out the guitar player and the base player getting into it in the background!

I would have loved to post a live version of this song but I couldn't find one with the outstanding base accompaniment along with the excellent guitar.

MELODY GARDOT Good Night

NINA SIMONE-FEELING GOOD

A chill out version that is best appreciated after the original by Nina.

dahbeed in the banarroo house.....you lucky bastage 03-wink

to change gears from the female rhymes with tamale tunes.....

heard these two today for the first time from the southern miss station..they may have sold out and suck balls now, but their first handful on vinyl were well done...

not so shockingly, it's a another version of the vines......or the vines are.....or both are product of the ramones....or is it jack white.....or another of which product due to the the british invasion that latch onto those missippy blues fellas....

it's too cool how full circle revolves!!!!
