RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
Artist: John Denver
Album: Rocky Mountain High
Song: "Rocky Mountain High"
performance on Tonight Show 1972
October 30, 1972 RCA Records
Numerous radio stations cautiously banned the song until Denver publicly explained that the "high" was his innocent description of the sense of peace he found in the Rocky Mountains, and also his experience of the elation, celebration of life and the joy in living that one feels when he observes something as wondrous as the Perseid meteor shower on a moonless, cloudless night, when there are so many stars that you have a shadow from the starlight, and you are out camping with your friends, your best friends, and introducing them to one of nature's most spectacular light shows for the first time.
I always enjoyed the music and performance of this song.
Artist: John Denver
Album: Windsong

A song written by John Denver in 1975 as a tribute to Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his research ship, the Calypso, which was the name of Jacques Cousteau's research boat that sailed around the world for ocean conservation.

Song: "Leaving On A Jet Plane"
October 14, 1969 RCA Records

I loved his Pantera medley....how he missed Cowboys from Hell is mystifying....
but yeah, he's pretty hardcore across the board....once upon, I was in that angle minded too...
the art of acquiring a diversified library over time is quite interesting as one ages....
a snippet from my daughter as I'm toting her 'crew' a few years ago whilst pimpin' some rap....."DAD, how do you know those lyrics?" ...had 'em laughing in 'stitches' after that....

Wasn't using Cowboys from Hell as pump up jam music for the Canes road trips and game day play list.

You want some slow jams?
Yeah, man, what do you like that's not at "11"?
I like some slow jamz man but I have needed the adrenaline kick for work, and Hurricanes games. I haven't dug into the crates for "chill" music lately.

Don't get me posting some soul, funk, and real R&B.....

Doing my walk around the neighborhood today and I hit the dreaded hill. It is getting warmer and the humidity is up so the hill is looking me in the eye. Then this tune pops up and powers me through!
RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
Somebody mentioned they wanted some mellow? Remembering and sitting on the back porch drinking a brew and this tune pops up. I have had this song in my collection A LONG TIME and it never fails to put me in a good mood. Most will probably find this a little too tame. The oboe in this song enters so delicately and weaves through the melody so effortlessly your soul could ride on it. I consider it a masterpiece.

Yo Stinkfist.
August 30th.
So they’re saying. LOL. We’ll see. 10,000 days came out in 2006. Since that time both of my sons have started and graduated college. Got married. One of ‘em made me a Poppy. 13 years is a little while to wait, no?
