At this point we have allowed 34 first downs and 650 yards and I am out. Our defense makes me want to vomit.

At least they only got a fg! But, we need a quick score and then the ball again to have a chance. The next offensive series ought to be interesting.

Why don't we ever reverse the ball to Archer off the kickoff? Just because they don't kick him the ball doesn't mean we can't get the ball in his hands.

No flag?!?!?look at that replay! Once he was engaged by the tackler on a horse collar tackle nonetheless, the other guy drilled him helmet to helmet.

What's with these calls? Does Rock realize we are down 14 under 5:00 and our D can't get a 3 & out to save their lives?

RE: Week 6 - NIU @ KSU - Homecoming & MAC Championship Game Revenge Opportunity
Positive takeaways from the game:
1. Our young O- Line is improving. Didn't look at the stats, but it can't recall NIU getting to Reardon much. He often had plenty of time to make plays.
2. The secondary was better than I expected. We had two picks and it seems yards after catch were somewhat contained.
3. Dri Archer is healthy. Should help us with the rest of the schedule.
4. We are developing a nice core of reliable receivers. No game changers, but just guys who can catch more than they dropped. That has not always been the case.
Head scratchers from the game:
1. Really, really surprised that we didn't run more. We avoided running, had a few 30+ runs then sort of walked away from it. I understand the run/pass ratio when we were playing from behind, but through the first half of a tie, go to our strength. It seems to me that NIU did struggle on run defense. The failure to punch in on 1st and goal just before the half was really discouraging.
2. Where did our defensive line go? I'm not blaming Nix, because he can't do everything. But geez, I don't ever remember seeing our line pushed around like that. They were just blown out of the way.
On a side note, first time in the "new" Kent. Stayed at the new hotel. The place seemed to have a whole new positive vibe. Aside from the game, it was a great homecoming.

My take from the game was the dropped pass in the endzone, If that is caught, I see a different gameplan and mindset.
Also, for as much as I bashed our fans for bolting after a drizzle last year, they really hung around after a drenching. I hope that momentum stays around in 3 weeks.
On a side note, when is Halloween celebration in downtown? I hope its not the same weekend as our next game because that never works well.
