I agree with the goal to have an on-campus stadium 100% and also agree if the bowl game chooses to walk away from our university's conference, there's no reason for Tiger fans to support the game.

However, many folks look at the Liberty Bowl stadium and Liberty Bowl game as the same entity. One just happens to play in a stadium with the same name. The bowl game choosing to align with another conference and the fact that they ignored us many times when we were eligible shouldn't have a positive or negative affect on our feelings about the stadium itself.

if they have the sec-big xii matchup they wont give a ratzazz whether or not tiger fans come.

Exactly, a SEC / Big 12 matchup is a no brainer where the Liberty Bowl is concerned. All sell outs or near sell outs.

Depends on the match up.

Hell, the Tulsa-Iowa State game drew 53K last year.

WVU-Arkansas would be a hard sell about an hour after the matchup was relased.

I figured this would happen. Liberty can't sit around and watch the world go by waiting on the tigers to one day make the liberty bowl. Selling tickets will not be a problem. Attendance has been great once the SEC came on board. Add the B12 and that makes ticket sells even better.

The SEC is like the dark side, "You just don't know the power of the dark side".

The Liberty is not the only loss for the new American Conference. Several other tie-ins have been usurped by the SEC and others of the power 5 conferences. It's looking like the American Conference will have to fight others for the scraps.

This is a good thing for everyone. I think in some ways this actually helps the Tigers on down the road. Will sellout every year.

Not so sure. Only a few SEC teams will be excited to come here. This will have to be a rotation of the Tenn and Miss schools plus Ark. If they invite a team with high expectations this season like a SC or Georgia do not expect a sell out. Few Big 12 teams will sell their allotment.

ga, we aren't losing anything. i'll let you in on a little secret.....the tigers have never played in the liberty bowl. so whats the big deal??

as a memphian i'd be tempted to go to a sec-big xii matchup. tv will like a sec-big xii matchup. the stands will fill up for a sec-big xii matchup.

nobody gives a damn about the aac. the liberty bowl is trying to position itself as a major player for the coming split.

this is a win-win for the city of memphis

Plus its people not from Memphis actually coming to Memphis (unlike many if not most CUSA who are now in AAC). Outsider dollars. Let's make sure they have a good tikme here and feel welcome so word of mouth marketing about the improving Memphis region spreads, and brings more tourism and transplanted residents, many of whom will attend/support U of M sports for recreation (like I have in Tucson and Phoenix)...
