The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist. And I don’t like taking part in creating fictions about my life. That’s sort of not what I had in mind when I came out thirty years ago.
I have three kids who have five parents, more or less, and I don’t see why they shouldn’t have five parents legally… I met my new partner, and she had just had a baby, and that baby’s biological father is my brother, and my daughter’s biological father is a man who lives in Russia, and my adopted son also considers him his father. So the five parents break down into two groups of three… And really, I would like to live in a legal system that is capable of reflecting that reality, and I don’t think that’s compitatible with the institution of marriage.”

I suggest listening to he whole thing, it really is quite revealing. If you dont want to listen to the entire thing and just want to hear the above, skip to about the 6 minute mark.

Never heard of her, and she certainly doesn't speak for me or the majority of Americans.
Hey - I can find a Fred Phelps video, and call him a Christian Activist, and then assume he speaks for you.

So, you disagree with the positions she takes, do you? Well then, what positions do you take on those issues? And how do your positions differ from hers?

Gay marriage will do NOTHING to affect straight marriage, other than have a few closeted guys come out. Family units will continue.

Churches will be free to marry whomever they want. I don't know a single person that advocates anything different. There are plenty of churches that will marry gays now.

A same sex "marriage" is inferior to a male-female marriage.

That's the way it is. Sorry if it makes you cry.

Instead of getting into an unholy vs. holy war, how about us Christians try to secure our own salvation? Does other people's gay marriage effect it?

Make sure you have your own up to snuff and stop worrying about everyone else. That's what individualists do.

You're 100% accurate...DOMA grants over 1000 benefits to straight married couples and denies those same benefits to gay married couples...but don't you worry! The Supreme Court is on the case!

You can feel that way, but what good is it to just go around saying it?

Why would that have any impact on public policy? Luckily the US is not a theocracy. 04-cheers

If that self is being a bag of dicks. There are lots of obstinate posters here, no need to kick a guy when he's down.
