PBS buys all of its programming that it doesn't produce itself.

Beyond that, the local affiliate is not PBS. It's just that, an affiliate.

They wouldnt be buying basketball games with tax dollars. Grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting account for very little(about 10%) of their revenue and most of that money is used for administrative purposes with the remainder used for programming(children's shows, etc) required by the grant. The money WKNO would've used for the basketball game wouldve come totally and completely from private sources. Unfortunately, 100,000 dollars is just stupid money.

Roger that. As long as there are no public funds involved.

The schedule only shows 3 games on Wednesday. Confirming that the top 5 finishers will get byes into the quarterfinals.

Why do the work when others do it for you?
