Yahoo Article on Reggie Collier....Good Read!

Great read......cool to see Reggie getting some props. When I lived in Hattiesburg I ran into him a few times. He once told me had he listened to Coach Landry he could have played WR/TE for many years w/the Cowboys.

I knew Reggie when I was at USM. I use to tease him after he got his mercedes (gray with red interior) after signing with Birmingham Stallions, that when he got tired of it he could give it to me and I would force myself to take it. Reggie was a good guy and I am glad he is getting some nice words said on his behalf.

I got a chance to see him play for the Orlando Renegades in the USFL. Reggie was an unreal football player... as athletic as he was he would kick ass in today's NFL. It's nice when these guys aren't just bitching about concussions.

I have his Orlando Renegades USFL card. Lee Corso always had good things to say about Reggie as well.

Middle Tennessee in the mid to late 80s had a Marvin Collier at QB, who led the Raiders to an undefeated regular season in '85. IIRC, he was related (cousin?) to Reggie Collier.

Favre was special, not doubt about it....but Reggie was the best...is a shame his head got in the way....he was right there with Ray Guy and Bubba Phillips as our best athletes of all time.

I doubt it. Reggie was raised by his grandmother in D'Iberville on the Miss. Coast. He did have a cousin that played QB at USM immediately following him named Robert Duckworth. I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't think they are kin.
