Now, I am reasonable and I understand this is not the ACC of my youth and we must adapt. I think the Big East will retain MSG, which is fine with me. There are other arenas in the NYC area that could host the tourney every now and then, but please, no more FLA tournaments. Also, visit Greensboro before you knock it, and bring your sticks!
Most of us newbies understand where the old guard is coming from...our point is the new ACC should expand it reach in the East especially in NYC.
Now if you are correct that the CYO-7 keeps MSG on an exclusive basis fine, my point is 6 out of 10 years it should be in either Time Warner in Charlotte or the Greensboro Coliseum but the other 4 years it needs to be in the Verizon Center in DC, Wells Fargo in Philly, Fleet Center in Boston & Barclay Center in NYC/Brooklyn...maximum exposure up and down the East Coast while having the ACCT over half the time in North Carolina.
I think Maize will back me up on this: When Louisville came in the league in 2005...they were familiar with playing at MSG. But most Louisville and Cincy fans didn't quite buy into the hype of how special MSG is during March. They had great tournaments past in the CUSA, Metro, etc...and thought no way MSG would be much better. Now almost every UL/Cincy fan out there realizes how special it is to play in midtown Manhattan.
The tourney needs to rotate between NC and NYC...maybe consider ATL. Esayem is right...no to Tampa, Jax or Miami.
You are exactly right...now if the CYO 7 can keep it exclusively than ok...but if MSG is open to "share" it and allow the ACC on a rotational basis than for the platform/brand it takes it to another level.
Please, don't compare "your" MSG take to a Preseason NIT/jimmy V Classic etc.etc. The ACC Touney in MSG along with it in Greensboro/Charlotte/Atlanta takes it even to a higher level.
Oh, I agree...no ACC Tourney in Florida...no passion in the games I saw there.

There is no such thing as a modern 25,000 seat arena that doesn't have the word "dome" in it's name. Generally speaking. In fact, only 3 that would quantify as modern (i.e. equipped with modern luxury suites, premium seating, suitable for an NBA team, etc) even seat over 22,000, The Scottrade Center (st. Louis), the Palace of Auburn Hills, and The KFC Yum Center. Greensboro is bigger than all three, but would not really qualify as a "modern" arena. Anyway if you want 25,000 plus, you have only four choices within the footprint: The Georgia Dome, Tropicana Field, Lucas Oil Stadium (ND), or the Carrier Dome.
