Yes, see I can see the difference between teachers and unions.

Please continue with your "I love teachers, but I hate teachers' unions" argument. It's highly entertaining.

My sister's a teacher and she hates teacher unions. Does that count?

See, I knew it wouldn't take long for you righties to get back to your teacher-hating ways. Damn those teachers wanting to band together to have a say in their workplace! How dare they!

But teacher's workplaces are governed by the government. Do you not think that the governement will do what is best for the teachers?

There is no "the government". Teachers' workplaces are governed by a wide variety of school boards and local governments. Some of these governmental entities are good to their teachers, and some are hostile. The point being that teachers should have the right to band together for bargaining purposes if they so choose. The only reason to deny them that right is a craven political agenda that seeks to undermine unions and weaken middle-class America.

Again, I'm amazed how one week the righties are screaming how awful teachers are because of their unionization, then the next week the righties are praising them for their protection of children and trying to jam guns into their hands. It's cognitive dissonance in full force.

I bet you'll all be glad when this shooting stuff blows over so you can go back to hating teachers again.

Most of us draw the distinction between the teachers and the teacher's unions.

But since you're stupid that would be lost on you.

Right-wing logic = yes to the right to carry deadly weapons around children, but no the right to band together for better wages and working conditions. You righties are idiots.

Lefty logic would ensure that only criminals would carry weapons around children.

Lefty logic would be to abort them so that guns would never be around them.

People that support abortion access are no more in favor of abortion than people that support access to guns are in favor of the Sandy Hook killings.

You support a woman having the right to kill a child in the womb but not the classroom.

One more time, and I'm typing very slowly this time.

I have the greatest respect for teachers, having some idea of what they put up with.

It's big, bloated, corrupt thugging unions I have a problem with, particularly public sector unions.

Second, I for one, do not want to put guns in teachers' hands, and would not foist that responsibility on them on top of everything else.

My Grandmother taught First Grade for 41 years in Houston. She hated the "Teachers Unions" even though in Texas they didn't have close to the influence and power they do up North.

I can remember everyone regardless of political preference saying these shooters have mental problems. Did you know here in Arizona where I live, you can buy a gun even if you have a potentially violent mental disorder? How about let's hold some standard that would lower the chances of people not mentally fit to get guns from getting them? How about we learn a little history as well and realize that gun violence was a problem in this nation before and making gun owners follow reasonable regulations is how it was slowed. In my hometown of Columbia Ms. back in the 1880s and going into the 1890s church services couldn't be held because every time they tried, someone would could with a gun and start shooting. Finally, the people said they wanted their church more than the right to shoot people at church and they refused to let people take guns into places like church, school, etc. Oh my imagine how tough that be, not being able to take my gun into church, oh what an abuse of my freedoms. Oh my, imagine people getting better mental health treatment and not being able to get a gun and blow people away. Ok thanks, and now you can return to your arming teachers and everyone having a gun as if it is some new concept never done in this country, even though the history proves you wrong.

So glad we ended church shootings by refusing to let people take guns to churches.

Oops, Guess not everyone got the memo.

"Hey, you can't bring that gun into a church!!!"
