After giving this some thought - DJ has had the highest number of jaw dropping dunks. My vote is with DJ for all time best dunker and the great news is we still have almost a whole season left for more.

If you're really making an honest judgment, you need to have watched the games that these guys played in. youtube only has what someone was able to capture and put there.

DJ definitely has some jaw dropping dunks. So did Penny, Billy and Michael. Both those guys also had a lot of mind blowing shots, rebounds, and blocks on top of it. DJ hasn't. When you play defense and rebound the whole game like Wilson did, and still dunk in someones face, that is impressive.

Dr Steve Ballard had a put back slam out of nowhere that was very memorable.

Wilson is a world record holder, that ought to count for something.

i really think some of dorsey's were some of the most "thunderous" I've ever seen from a tiger.

He did it with anger too.

Yes I was at that game in the colisium. Gibson lost the ball and "as a kid" I remember the ball almost hitting the top of the colisium and then Ballard came from nowhere!

Anyone remember him?

Bell's first dunk attempt as a Tiger was in the pre-season intra-squad game in 1976. He clanked it off the back of the rim and it sailed backwards to half court. I was there and had Public Speaking class with him and Luxora, AR O-lineman, Sonny Barch the next day. Barch had absolutely no mercy on him.

To his credit, Dennis won the AR state high jump with a record leap of 6'8". He basically jumped his own height.

that was Dennis Isabell -

one of the best ever was Baskerville Holmes dunk at Ole Miss his freshman season. BTW, he high jumped a TN state record at the time of 7'...Al McGuire use to say "folks in TV land look at the door frame to your house, he can jump over that"

Dennis Isbell.

"Batman" was also a world class high jumper and had some impressive slams.

Doesn't Lorenzen Wright hold the most dunks in school history?

The dunk DJ threw down during the Xavier game was one of the best dunks I have ever seen for several different reasons. Billy Smith was a fantastic dunker but I have to say DJ is the best for in game quality dunks.

Isbell could really dunk and jump like crazy. Penny's USL dunk and many others. D.J. has had so many, like someone said, it's a generational thing. I've seen decades of Tigers hoops, and we have had more than our share of great dunks.

1. Rodney Carney
2. Michael Wilson
3. Baskerville Holmes
4. D.J Stephens
5. Joey Dorsey

These 5 guys were consistently the best dunkers I ever saw. Other Tigers, Bedford, Penny, Billy Smith, CDR etc... had some memorable dunks but on a game to game basis, the guys above had many, many highlights. Rodney Carney was a mainstay on ESPN top 10 plays his jr and sr. yrs

each had 1 dunk.

Actually I'm sure Brett had several, but since I can't remember them, I still give DJ the edge.
