I know this has been said over and over again, but I just can't get over how awesome this league will be in hoops. UConn, UofL, Syracuse, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Pitt, Villanova, Georgetown, Rutgers, Marquette, Depual, Cincy, etc....wow!
No doubt Big East will be the best hoops conference. I can see at least 7 maybe 8 or even 9 teams going to the NCAA Tournament every season with additional teams going to the NIT. I cant wait to finally be in a real basketball league where UofL belongs!

Agreed. We UCONN fans are real excited about this league too. However, dont expect CARDS to win this league easily cause other traditional BE powers will have something to say about this. Already, 7 BE schools have top 25 recruiting classes for 2006. 4 BE schools are in the top 10 with UCONN #3, UL #4, Cuse #9 and GTOWN #10. 19 of top 100 recruits commited to the BE already for 2006.

I think it was interesting that I read this week that Louisville has never played in a top notch bb conference. I was surprised when I read this, especially since Louisv. did win 2 ncaa championships in the last 20 years.

8 bids will be the max perhaps 9 with a special case. How can you have 4 top ten and still have more than 8 teams with 16 wins. People ignore the math.
UConn 12-4
SU 12-4
UL 11-5
Vill 11-5
Pitt 9-7
G'Town 9-7
ND 9-7
WV 9-7
UC 7-9
SH 6-10
PC 6-10
RU 6-10
Depaul 6-10
MU 6-10
SJU 4-12
USF 3-13

I like your predictions Bobcat but there should be four more wins in there or four fewer loses which is enough to change your predictions significantly. I counted 126 wins and 130 loses.
Try this...almost the same with equal number of wins and loses. with Cincy at 8-8 it would give us a ninth team in the tournament.
UConn 13-3
SU 12-4
UL 11-5
Vill 11-5
Pitt 9-7
G'Town 9-7
ND 9-7
WV 9-7
UC 8-8
SH 6-10
PC 6-10
RU 6-10
Depaul 6-10
MU 6-10
SJU 4-12
USF 3-13

I think SJU will be much improved this year playing that ugly basketball. UCONN is set for this year. Cant wait for start of the season. UCONN will not have its top PG Marcus Williams but we have two freshmen who will be playing PG. Who knows how good these kids will be. All other positions are stacked at UCONN. We are ready for our 2006 National Championship run.
I think BE will get 9 teams into the NCAA this year. UCONN, CUSE, UL, WVU, Nova, GTOWN, Cincy, PITT, SJU
Its great WVU is joining the ranks.

CINCY WILL BE BETTER THAN 8-8 Maybe 9-7 or 10-6. We have 4 starters returning. Even know we lost HUGGS and Maxiell, WE should be decent. The season after next is when it will be tough.
