Though, I'd tell Glenn Beck... This Republic is bigger than any one person, or their family.

Yeah, he's pretty much been saying that for over a year, so I don't know where you're going with that.

He's been telling Sarah Palin that if something happenned to her or her family, it would be the end of the Republic? I think that's total BS. I've yet to hear him say that one.... but I don't watch his show on a regular basis.

You say that as if that's a good thing.

He doesn't get the coward's way out. He has to answer to the charges in Court, and gets to spend the rest of his life in a living Hell of his own making.

This trial will be a HOLE. LEE. CIRCUS, as all sides hang onto every utterance, every piece of discovery, every piece of minutiae as evidence that some side of the political spectrum is 100% directly responsible for this ******.

Maybe he was smart enough to know a trial and national attention would make him infamous, fame he could never have in real life.

Breezed through the Guardian a little while ago (a left-leaning UK outlet) that is popular with both US and UK posters. Here's a sampling from the Comments Section of what is currently spinning in the minds of the Left. This was only on Page 1:

- Demagoguery hardly leads to positive outcomes. That's a lesson American right-wingers should urgently learn...

- Sue Palin for indicing political and racial hatred among fellow American citizens!

- The right wing nutty rhetoric is partly responsible for this tragedy. It empowers unstable nutcases to believe that they have justice on their side.

- But this should be the moment where america wakes up and makes fox news etc accountable.....

- I hope the person who Palin put in the crosshairs sues the *** off her.
And I hope those who were collateral damage in the offensive action do the same.

- Gleen Beck can give it but he can't take responsibility for the consequences.

- Sad to say, but all these Tea Party members are absolute nut cases, and to let them own guns is just unbelieveable.

- Well, at least the gunman was a 'real American' as the likes of Palin might label him.

There ya go.

I wish news outlets all over would just realize that this was a crazy dude. Everyone that knew him said the same. While a real problem, rhetoric probably didn't cause this incident.

It really sucks that America has become such a blame game supported by the 24/7 conditioning that we get from a completely biased media, including ALL of the major outlets.

Probably the best op-ed I've seen of the left's 'reaction' to the tragedy. Great column. From the Washington Post, no less:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...03002.html

I mentioned this leading up to the Congressional election last year. The liberals spent far little time explaining their ideas the past 2 years, and far too much time railing on and on about "teabaggers", Fox News and Sarah Palin, who's little more than a reality TV show knob at this point.

I may have disagreed with the majority of what the Democrats, and their lapdogs in the media, were selling, particularly on the economic front. But at least I'd have maintained a level of respect. But instead it's just a steady stream of opportunistic blame games and double standards (when it's an Islamist shooter or Discovery Channel gunman, we're supposed to "calm down, not make assumptions and wait for the details to come out" ... when it's a crazed nut who shows absolutely no ties to the Tea Party, blame anyway).

Apparently, their lesson from last November hasn't been learned. And this latest round will backfire for the Left, as the moderates and Independents will see right through it all.

Although the op-ed was published in the WaPo, it is written by a conservative author, Marc Thiessen

Out of context there is nothing "haunting" about this image. There is nothing sinister about his eyes or his smirk.

But, phrenology ranks right up there w/ AGW and Darwinism.

When I first saw that mugshot, I, too thought that I would love to wipe that smirk off his face with a right cross.

But that is the difference between a sane person who is stable and this dreck of a human with obvious mental problems. We stable humans don't act on those impulses. We know it is wrong and we know that there are consequences for our actions. By assaulting him or killing him outright, we would be no better than him.

There is a major difference between "wishing" we could get retribution ourselves and actually acting on those impulses. I'm betting there are millions of us that would personally wish to have a 10 minute unsupervised "visit" with this guy in his cell. This fantasy in our minds is OK because nobody really gets hurt.

Smirking boy may not be so gleeful, though, when he gets to the big house. That's a whole new level of craziness for which he won't be equipped.

Man, I'm scaring myself. It seems that I am agreeing with Mach.
