the Memphis job is much much better.. period end of story. la tech doesnt have anything close to
what fedex offers Memphis. You can argue it if you want but your out of your mind

Nice job of the blog, an incredible job for Dooley... I just don't see how it will work out but you just never know when a Coach gets a stick to fight with!

If everyone is paying attention, with very few exceptions, all the new head football coaches hired since the end of the season at the D1 level seem to show one common trend; youth.

The exceptions being Tubs at TT, Mike Kelly at ND falls in between, he's young at the D1 level. I am sure there are others, but it seems that coaches in their 30s and 40s are ruling the roost of new hires right now.

UT kept that trend following Kiffin's departure. Of course Dooley isn't THAT young, but young enough. That really surprises me, but he seemed to have a lot of things going at La Tech other than the W-L column.

I have always contented that UT knoxville, like UT Austin, should win with anyone as head coach. A lot of coaches could win at either place, only a few boneheads could screw it up, and Fulmer did at Rocky Top, and a few did at Texas between Darrell Royal and Mack Brown.

Hopefully, any local kids who were considering UT, will reconsider and want to play for Porter and Memphis!
