Quote:Who, in the history of the world, has had as much power as us

No nation in the history of the world has ever had as much power as the United States. No country can compete with our navy. No country can compete with our army. No country has the space-based surveliance technology available to our troops. No country has such precise bombs.

As a result, other countries don't even bother to compete any more. They can't beat us. They don't try. In a year or two, our country will begin spending more on our military than the rest of the world combined.

In light of that, the rest of your argument:

Quote:and abused it the least?

Would be true even if our foreign policy intentions were Hitleresque.

This statement, however, is highly debatable:

Quote:Who, in the history of the world has been as giving and compassionate as us to anyone that needed help? No one.

The U.S. foreign aid budget, when measured as a percentage of the gross domestic product, is among the smallest in the industrialized world.

Foreign aid is one measure of compassion. By that measure, the U.S. falls very short.

BS!!!!! The Roman Empire, in retrospect, was stronger than we are now. They conquered EVERYONE and had land all the way to the British Isles. They were conquerers, we are not. ..and as far as us not doing enough, it doesn't matter what you think. If there is a poor guy and he is given a 100 dollars by a guy that makes 20K a year and 50K by someone that makes a Mil, yeah, the percentage is going to look like the lower income guy gives more, but the fact is, the richer guy is helping more.

I have NEVER liked france BECAUSE of the people.....they are a bunch of snobbish/arrogant pricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And 90% of the world sees us that way... because of arrogant pricks like you...
I never attacked you personally but since you have choosen to do so.........

You stupid little $HIT, here is the deal, I HAVE traveled all over this world and can tell you from personal experience and from others who have been to France that the French are all a bunch of dumba$$es.

Why don't you take that French ***** out of your butt and realize that the french are only concerned about themselves and how to make the world work for them.

Now, you have know idea who I am or what I have done in the past and you DEFINITELY do not know what sort of individual I am. Yes, I can be a prick but you have shown yourself to be a true horses a$$ by making such assine statement as that.[Image: flip.gif]
Hey buddy... I have been to France also and there are many arrogant people over there. Unfortunately for our great country... there are a bunch of arrogant people over here, too.

2) The whole country of Iraq is not terrorists... just like the whole Bin Laden family. We supplied Iraq with weapons to fight against the Shah in Iran (IIRC) and we helped the Taliban against the USSR.
3) They aren't our ENEMY... why don't we just declare war on them right now?
1) Those 300 other countries, mean less than one france.
2)a. So what are you trying to argue about with the bin Ladens?
b. We provided them with intelligence, not weapons. And we may have trained a few of their soldiers.
c. We never supported the Taliban. We supported the Mujahadeen (or however you spell it). The Taliban came after the war with Russia.
3) I was going to wait till I could afford some heavy weaponry, but if we've got enough people then lets hope a flight to Paris.
1) Great point... so obviously France means a helluva lot to the world...
2) a) That business is business... we have done shady business in the past... it's just oil... just like it's just weapons with other countries... etc...
b) And we did give them weapons... you really think we JUST trained their soldiers and didn't arm them?
c) Whatever... you may be right.
3) How about someone assassinates Chirac and his administration. Would that make you happy?

1) Its because we never would have heard the end of it if we hadn't given them that power after WWII. They'd be whinning the whole way with Truman. Another mistake was giving them part of Germany after the war. They didn't do ****** during the war. My mistake, they did one thing. They were a buffer between Hitler and England. Slowed him down for almost...oh I would say about... 2 months.
2)a) ok, got you now
b)Care to prove it? And I mean with document government papers and not just a link to a newspaper speculation.
3) Shoot, give me a rifle and ticket to Paris and I'll do the frickin job myself.

BTW, french is still the international business language.
I've been there a few times. Trust me, "I" could do without them. They have nothing that we couldn't produce ourselves.
So I assume we could paint the masterpieces of the Louvre... make the fancy cuisine of most Parisien restauants... replicate the beautiful beaches of Nice... hey... why don't we get rid of the French language altogether? Who cares about business anyway?
I don't know what business you are in but I make international business deals every month and trust me when I say their language IS NOT the business language.

It's the official business language today. English will soon become the official business language... however French is right now.

That's right Nate.At least to some extent anyway.

Like the title of the article reads,(Chirac to call for shift from battling terrorism to helping poorer nations)

I agree with Chirac on this.Helping poorer nations is very very important at this time.Sure terrorism still poses a threat but throwing money oops i mean helping poorer nations is just as important maybe more.

"Quote"The Times-Mr.Chirac is expected to say that the welthiest nations must increase their spending for education, health care, water and farming, and that they must help restructive government institutions and encourage free investment in the poorer regions of the world.

Now who can argue with that? Not i. :D

Exactly... There will always be terrorism... harnessing it is the goal of the War on Terrorism (which I support 100%, BTW).

RebelKev, is this something we actually agree on?

Yeah....and people like Arafat should be right in our damn crosshairs. Moderism, if that's even a damn word, is what we should be soliciting.

I'm an NRA sharpshooter! I'll shoot him for Bush! Anyone got a .50 cal sniper rifle and a plane ticket to Israel? While I'm gone, can someone book me a flight to Paris? I've got a little bit of unfinished business there.

The War on Terror is an un-winnable war, no questions about it. But the "war" is an attempt to show the terrorrist agencies around the world that the US is no longer gonna wait for you to come hit us before we strike. We're gonna get you first and we're bringin' everything with us including the kitchen sink.
