BTW, french is still the international business language.
I've been there a few times. Trust me, "I" could do without them. They have nothing that we couldn't produce ourselves.
So I assume we could paint the masterpieces of the Louvre... make the fancy cuisine of most Parisien restauants... replicate the beautiful beaches of Nice... hey... why don't we get rid of the French language altogether? Who cares about business anyway?
Like I said, there is nothing they have that we couldn't reproduce. We have better beaches, more diversity in food, screw the Louvre, that nasty-a-ss River Seine, and their arrogant manners. We have that in NYC. You don't think we can reproduce such things? Go to Vegas. France isn't the ONLY place that has antiquities. And yes, we could do without them. They need us more than we need them.

...and they sure liked our "American Idea" of freedom.
Now I see why so many countries think we're arrogant ********... Talk about ignorance...
Rebel proved a very valuable point in his post. He can explain how America is so much better with evidence. The french are just cocky, arrogant, cheese-eating surrender monkeys who claim that they are the example of the perfect race, but can't fight a war without losing first then whining to the US and Britain to bail them out.
A couple words that come to mind when reading this post:

arrogant
ignorant
stereotyping
sweeping generalizations

Thomas... I know you just LOVE to hate the french... but really... are you this blind?

To think that we could even come CLOSE to replicating French culture is just idiotic. I assume we have the artists of France... like Pablo Picasso, Berthe Morisot, Paul Gauguin, Francois Boucher, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Robert Doisneau, Eduoard Manet, Edgar Degas, Antoine Watteau etc... or the famous French wines from Bordeau... yeah... but of course... Californian wine is much better... MY ******. Yeah... our cheese is much better... that's why we import billions of pounds of French cheese per year. Why don't we just replicate it? huh? What about broadway? Where do you think The Phantom of the Opera came from? You guessed it... "Le Fantome de l'Opera", a french writer... LES MISERABLES... the most successful broadway show EVER? Yeah... and French culture is just terrible... How many of you French-hating schmucks have ever been to Paris for extended periods of time? France has the kind of culture that a lot of our urban jungles lack... and France helps our society reach that uquilibrium between business and culture.

Yeah... and French is still the international business language. 5 out of the 7 continents speak it OFFICIALLY... and it's an understood language of 6 out of the 7. And just to save you the trouble...

North America - Canada
South America - Martinique
Africa - Mouritania
Europe - France
Asia - Vietnam
Australia - It's spoken in New Zealand, and also in Australia the country.

Oh yeah... and any of you think there would be a USA without the French navy coming to trap Cornwallis in the Revolution? Nope... nada... zilch...

No, buddy... I'm very pro-American too... that doesn't mean I'm a blind patriot. I realize that other countries offer us many good things and that we couldn't survive without them.

To say that we can survive w/o France... and that we can replicate everything about France is just blind and stupid.
We can't survive W/O France? Please, tell me why not. That IS what you JUST said.

Define survive... of course we could survive a war w/o France... our military is 2X better than any other in the world... Our country's culture and people depend on France... look outside your uber conservative microcosm for a minute and you'll see...

You tell me how our lives and livlihood rely on the damn French. We have our own culture. We DON'T need France. Culture has NEVER been a damn necessity. If it was, how in the hell did China survive for so long without French influence. Duh! Yeah, we have some French influence here. Just look at all the wusses in Congress.

Take a stab at how much French cheese and wine is imported daily into our country...
We have our own culture.
Glad to know that YOU do... way to speak for the rest of the country! :bang: We DON'T need France. Culture has NEVER been a damn necessity.
[b] LMAO! You probably live a ****** life.

If it was, how in the hell did China survive for so long without French influence. Duh! Yeah, we have some French influence here. Just look at all the wusses in Congress. It's all about survival, right? Who wins the wars... who survives... that's just plain crap... how you live is more important than how long you live.

1) Ever heard of the Producers? Took home more Toni's in its first year than any other play has ever recieved. I think thats better than duplicating. And guess what? Its only in its second or third year!

2) They showed up for one battle. Took about 6 years to show up when they did promise us they would come. We were winning without them anyway. Sure, the war might have lasted 2 or more years, but the British were going bankrupt anyway and would have had to end the war soon. France did jackshit for us in the Revolutionary war.

How long has the Producers been on broadway? 2 years... Les Mis? Dozens and dozens...

How many showings have there been of The Producers? Not even close to Les Mis. Until The Producers is the most successful show ever on Broadway... Les Mis is the best.

Yeah... the French didn't do jackshit for us in the Revolutionary War. Besides ending the war... they didn't do anything. You're right!

Ok, Gee, thanks for uhh, 225+ years ago France. You've been inept since then. This things you call necessary boggle my mind. How in the hell is ANYTHING they import here necessary? We can make our own damn cheese, wine, and movies? Give me a break. We have the Oscars, Tony's, etc., etc. What do they have, the Canne Film Festival? We are the leading producers of the best movies in the world. That's not debatable.
